H'ble @nsitharaman , Below, you state that you haven't increased any taxes on the Equity, claiming the only hike was the STT on F&O
What about rise in LTCG & STCG?
Ma'am,
Before October 2004
Long-term gains on listed shares were taxed at 20% with indexation, or 10% without — whichever worked out lower. Short-term gains had no special treatment at all. They were simply added to your income and taxed at your slab, which meant 30% for anyone in the top bracket. There was no STT.
October 2004:
The Finance (No.2) Act 2004 made a trade. LTCG on listed equity went to zero under Section 10(38). STCG got a flat concessional rate of 10% under Section 111A. In exchange, a new levy was introduced — STT, collected at source on every trade, at 0.075% on both the buy and the sell of a delivery transaction.
The logic was elegant: instead of chasing capital gains through assessment, collect a small amount from everyone, automatically, at the exchange. Compliance went up, litigation went down.
2005: Delivery STT raised to 0.10%
2006: Raised again to 0.125%
2008: STCG raised from 10% to 15%
2012: Delivery STT cut back to 0.10% — where it still sits today
This is cruelty,
**2018: LTCG exemption withdrawn. Section 112A brings back 10% on gains above ₹1 lakh, with gains up to 31 January 2018 grandfathered**
**2024: LTCG raised to 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh. STCG raised to 20%**
2026: Budget raises STT on futures and options only. Delivery untouched
Very Good.
LTCG was in lieu of STT. Why you retained & increasing both?
Please make LTCG 0 & STCG 10%. Please.🙏🙏

@Bhagwat_Jokare@mpsc_office@Dev_Fadnavis 2024 re-exam च्या तुमच्या case चे पुढ काय झालं?
@TheEduDoct@DimagiVichar158 Have you visited his class? Do you know any staff there? Nobody used to go at his coaching except 11-12th student. After the pattern changed that dramatically changed. He's biased.
&MPSC doesn't have competent staff to check papers.see the arbitrary marks given in 2025 mains.
म ही 3 मेन्स दिल्यात upsc च्या but checking process is very flawed. जो चांगला staff आहे they prefer to check upsc mains papers not MPSC. Search why mpsc was made objective in 2012 ? Hint: Agri optional
@Roh_Adii Descriptive is better. But MPSC doesn't have the manpower to check papers. जर तू आधी mains दिल्यात तर you must have noticed the discrepancy in the marking process of single descriptive paper they used to conduct for languages.

IIT, chalkboard, zero slides
A 22-year-old at IMC gets paid $500,000 in year one for exactly one skill. Not picking winners. Seeing every trade as a full spread of outcomes, each one with its own odds attached.
Her name is Prabha Sharma. She teaches this exact skill on a bare chalkboard, for free, in a lecture almost nobody outside that room has ever watched.
Most people see a trade as a coin flip. Win or lose. Nothing else.
You already think this way about your own trades, don't you.
That's the mistake. A trade is never just win or lose. It's a spread of outcomes, each with its own odds and its own payoff attached before a single dollar moves. The formula for this is called the binomial distribution, and it's far simpler than it sounds.
Here it is:
P(X = k) = C(n,k) × p^k × (1-p)^(n-k)
n = how many bets you take
p = your real win probability on each one
k = how many of them you actually want to win
Try it yourself right now. Say you have a genuine 55% edge (p = 0.55) and you take 10 trades (n = 10). What's the actual chance you win at least 6 of them?
Plug in k = 6: P(X=6) = C(10,6) × 0.55^6 × 0.45^4 ≈ 23.8%
Add that up across every value of k from 6 to 10, and your real odds of winning at least 6 out of 10 land around 47%. Just under a coin flip, with a genuine edge in your favor.
Sit with that for a second. A 55% edge does not feel like 55% once you actually run the math over a small number of trades.
This is the exact formula that decides how much to risk on any single bet, once you actually know your edge. Sharma builds the whole thing from zero, in notation simple enough for a complete beginner to follow every step.
Wall Street pays $500,000 a year for this one skill. An IIT professor already gave the entire thing away, for free, on a blackboard nobody bothered to watch.
I can’t promise myself a win.
But one thing I promise myself is this: After every defeat, I will stand again.
Jab tak todenge nahi, tab tak chhodenge nahi.
🔥🔥
After 37 years of age as a man, I’ve finally come to realize that the only cure to depression is just leaving the house at every single possible opportunity no matter how badly you don’t want to.
Here is why...
One day, your home will be empty, and someone will have to decide what to do with your things. They'll open your drawers. They'll find the watch you treasured so much, the car you spent three years paying off, and the clothes you saved for special occasions because you didn't want to wear them out. And they'll make three piles: what to sell, what to give away, and what to throw away. None of it goes with you. Not a single thing. The only thing that goes with you is that afternoon you stayed talking for hours and didn't even realize where the time went. The look on your mom's face when you showed up to visit her without telling her you were coming. Don't collect things... Collect moments with the people you love
