Working @worldbank & @lsenews to build human capital amongst the world's poorest. I read dev econ, geo-politics, & impact investing. Tweets are personal.
@Dulles_Airport has been consistent with its seamless customer experience - each time I fly from here, the security clearance takes under 10 mins and warm staff with prompt service. A model that India, having some of its busiest airports in Mumbai and Delhi, can replicate ❤️
Our latest blog on analytical work done in Angola... hope you enjoy reading it... Angolan municipalities experiencing prolonged droughts now endure on average over 9 consecutive dry months annually!!
To truly build resilience and break the cycle of poverty in a climate-challenged world, cash transfers need to be complemented by investments in skills, services, and infrastructure.

I couldn't be more inspired by Elizabeth, 73, who didn't want to miss her chance to go to school.
As she embarks on this journey, she discovers that knowing how to read opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
A world every girl & woman should have access to.

Economic opportunity & education play a pivotal role in our lives, but true empowerment begins early-on from mindset shift within households & societal norms! #AccelerateEquality
Echoing Nelson Mandela's words, 'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,' Siliguri’s Dr. Anirvan is breathing life into this philosophy.
His unwavering dedication is a force of change in 32 Siliguri villages. With a mere Rs 10, he's laying the foundation for education and jobs, fostering women's entrepreneurship through computer education and mushroom cultivation. Truly he is not just educating them but reshaping their destinies.
I’m marvelled at the precision and passenger friendliness of the new security check machines @Dulles_Airport . Most passengers and I cleared the security in <5 mins, with no obligation(s) to remove liquids/ electronics etc — sets the perfect case study for hassle-free travel!
<2/2> Elusive safety measures and laws for women need attention. 2024 General Elections continue to remain a priority, but our judicial system requires reformation - that starts with steps towards actionable laws and steadfast proceedings on rapists and violent men!
<1/2> Every 60 mins 49 cases of rape are reported in India (Courtesy: NCRB, 2021). I assume several also remain underreported or unreported. While growth projections are skyrocketing, are we women and young girls really safe?
@GoHimachal_ My heart pours to see this. Urging our government to prioritise disaster risk management and social protection for these families. Early warning systems, adequate social assistance, and rehabilitation of the affected remains paramount across the country!
