I couldn't wait! https://t.co/rGPlkHvodk is now running with Ruby on Rails v8.0.0rc1
What's next? Remove support for GA Universal, code refactor and then add a new report, probably for Referrers.
When customers request a feature, what they most want is a commitment: Yes, we'll do that! And that's the most tempting thing in the world to offer them. But you're better off saying THANK YOU and meaning it, without binding yourself to a specific solution.
This is a new phishing strategy, using @eventbrite . I have to admit it's a good one. @eventbritehelp
They will send you a Netflix "Payment Failed" notification that is actually an eventbrite event, once you click it it will ask you to update your credit card.
See video of full scam flow and also how they did it, in the thread.
Also please help reporting those events I linked in the thread and retweet.
@mbuckbee hey! I just watched your interview at Software Huddle. Great stuff!
I have a kind of silly question for you: do I need user's consent to use/analyze their IP address?

Blocking Bots & Moving from Redis to SQLite with Mike Buckbee 🎉
Today, we have Mike Buckbee on the show. Mike is the co-founder of @wafrisorg, and he wrote a really insightful article last week about moving from Redis to SQLite for an aspect of their architecture.
The article was nuanced in describing why it worked for their specific needs, and it has some surprising takeaways, including that SQLite was 3x faster than a local Redis instance for their workload.
Mike has built a few different WAF (Web Application Firewall) products, so we covered that area as well. He's seen a lot here, so we walked through all the nefarious traffic patterns and the speed in which these bots adapt to new vulnerabilities.
Finally, Mike has a wide-ranging skillset that includes marketing. Developers are notoriously tricky to market to, so we talked about his experience in effective marketing to developers without being disingenuous.
