@ToSoArch @oaarchitects #honoured2Bhonoured thank-you to the many TSA executives and staff I’ve served with over the years who’ve made it a pleasure to continue to volunteer with @ToSoArch & to @oaarchitects for the recognition.

@BrentToderian “driving within Paris city limits has fallen by about 45% since the early 1990s, while public transport use has risen by 30% and cycle use by about 1,000%.” - possible due to increasing investment in public transportation and alternative mobility. Imagine if Toronto invested?
“Someone with a 1-hr car commute needs to earn 40% more to be as happy as someone with a short walk to work. On the other hand, if someone shifts from a long commute to a walk, their happiness increases as much as if they’d fallen in love.” #CityMakingMath

@YIMBYLAND 2/2 - a second area of refuge to the exterior of the building for rescue in an emergency. Increasing opportunities for gentle density in urban centers in single-family neighbourhoods has the ability to rapidly increase housing supply surrounded by transit and amenities .
@YIMBYLAND 1/2 - Single stair for 4-6 storeys should be a no brainer. Wrt fire safety these buildings are already permissible in many cities with special applications, but have much stricter fire safety standards with respect to materials and fire suppression, and all require… 2/2
@mmpasha14@donnelly_b@mmpasha14 suggest you do your research before you hate on something as it makes you look ignorant. This project is a prototype only (ie not built but a “what could be if…”) and designed for main avenues in transit corridors already designated for 6+ stories.
@TPSOperations@TorontoPolice@1800222TIPS Over 3 hours on hold so far and counting to get through to non emerg line to report car theft. I thought the airline hold times couldn’t be beat but I was wrong. Crazy that there is no way to report these things online.
The Gardiner Expressway has approx 210,000 people on it each weekday. City is planning to spend $2 billion to save those people 3 minutes drive time.
TTC has 1.9 million daily users. City is planning to cut TTC service and increase wait times by 3-5 minutes.
There are hundreds of boulevards around the city dedicated to parking that could easily be greened for better communities & environment. Too much #redtape to dig thru!
The new parkettes along Parliament are amazing and do wonders in making it a much nicer place to go hang out. Shame they are temporary (until Sept) but hopefully they convince more people that there are far better uses for that bit of street than parking spots. 🌳🌳🌳
Winter is coming, but outdoor seating season for restaurants doesn’t need to end, given how badly businesses still need it to survive the #COVID19 pandemic. Can you spot the innovative technology that has allowed sidewalk restaurant seating to flourish year-round in #Copenhagen?
Did you know @Disney is one of @Facebook’s biggest advertisers?
Retweet if you think they should help #StopHateForProfit and boycott advertising on Facebook in July. https://t.co/JZ4aqW5Uzj
