Let Keeladi speak. Let history rise.
Tamil Nadu has sought immediate approval from the Union BJP Government for 8 archaeological excavations including #Keeladi, Adichanur and Nagapattinam. The proposals were submitted in July 2025 and taken up in a meeting under the Director General, ASI in November, yet permission remains pending for 8 months. Time and again we have raised this demand, and time and again it is being ignored.
The excavation season in Tamil Nadu runs only from January to July. If this window is missed, monsoon conditions will stall fieldwork, delay vital research and waste funds already allocated for 2025-2026.
I want to ask, why this hesitation? The antiquity of Tamil civilisation does not diminish India. It adds to India’s civilisational pride. What is the BJP Government afraid of? Approve the excavations and let history speak.

A memorable day for us at the TN Forest Department as we initiate the Tamil Nadu Raptor Research Foundation (TNRRF) at the Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation at Chennai, a first of its kind in India. Raptors are the tigers and leopards in the kingdom of birds as apex predators and vital indicators of ecosystem health. Tamil Nadu hosts 70+ raptor species, including Crested Serpent Eagle, Black Kite, Shikra, Short-toed Snake Eagle etc. Sadly many are endangered. It is time to bring back these majestic birds to their full glory. The Foundation will be a gamechanger in conserving Raptors through research, mapping habitats and migration routes, population estimation & habitat restoration etc

Its breakfast time at the Kozhikamudi elephant camp where 26 elephants are cared for by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department. Each elephant has a set menu designed by expert camp veterinarian based on the weight and age of the elephant. The diet invariably consists of ragi, rice, sugarcane, coconut and minerals. They are neatly arranged in blocks for exact measurements and then mixed lovingly by Mahouts. Its more than feeding - a moment for trust, love and feeding
