“The students who cannot read a 20-page article today are the voters who will not be able to read a bill, or the jurors who cannot follow a closing argument, tomorrow.”
I've sent questions to the ABC asking if they intend to counsel or discipline Charlie Pickering for giving an interview to someone who:
- pled guilty to unlawful assault in 2019
- describes Islam as a “barbaric ideology”
- was banned from Facebook for doxxing an ABC employee.
Jewish Australian Charlie Pickering tells Avi Yemeni Grace Tame’s autism podcast is “problematic” 🙄

@sqqyed You can, some films have done a better job. The point is not about representation and inclusion but about some basic accuracy that isn't damaging - especially when the cultural industry promotes ideas about Islam & Muslims to sell wars. Can't ignore that front.
She was great. Too bad the character she plays was wearing hijab in her subordinate role but when she takes the lead detective role in the second half of the story, the hijab came off.
“Several academics confessed they did not know all their students by name. A lecturer with 1500 students, who could name only 150 of them said “students get no meaningful personal connection to staff nor individualised support’’.”: https://t.co/2TklmZZBD7
