Dear Fellow Indians,

Our state, Manipur, has been under attack from #KukiNarcoTerrorists since May 3rd, 2023. Our government has failed to protect our beautiful state from the hands of #KukiNarcoTerrorists, and our people have lost faith in the nation’s ability to safeguard us.

Over 100,000 security forces have been deployed across 23,000 sq. km for the last 18 months. Yet, the irony is that they have been unable to restore peace or save innocent lives. At this juncture, the reintroduction of AFSPA in this small state raises the question: For what purpose?

How can we possibly restore trust and hope when the situation is so dire?

All we ask is to return to normalcy and for those responsible for this mayhem to be held accountable.

Please share your thoughts on how we can protect the territorial integrity of Manipur—and India at large—from illegal immigrants who are trying to destroy our land.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the violent conflict in Manipur. The plight of the people in Manipur remains dire as both the GOI and GOM have failed to adequately address the ongoing crisis. Many are still languishing in relief camps, enduring deplorable conditions with little hope for improvement. The promised help for justice seems to have fallen short, leaving the affected communities to fend for themselves.

After 365 days, missing persons remain unaccounted for, and the perpetrators of violence roam free. The lack of closure only adds to the anguish of those who have lost loved ones or been displaced from their homes.

One year has passed since the conflict escalated, yet meaningful steps towards resolution seem elusive. The voices of the common people, crying out for help and pleading for peace, seem to fall on deaf ears.

Questions arise as to why the full extent of military power available to the nation has not been mobilized to restore order and protect the vulnerable. Civilians are left to fend for themselves, resulting in many deaths. The failure to utilize all available resources only deepens the sense of despair and hopelessness among those affected.

In the face of such adversity, the mood remains somber, overshadowed by the continued suffering of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. The people of Manipur deserve better – they deserve peace and justice. 🛑 As we enter the 10th month of violence in Manipur, it is crucial to address the repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement between the Indian government and various Kuki militant groups.

🛑 The involvement of 25 #KukiMilitantgroups in fomenting violence and numerous documented incidents of atrocities are breaches of the ceasefire agreement and calls for swift and decisive action. The ceasefire agreement was intended to facilitate dialogue and peace-building efforts, not to serve as a shield for perpetuating violence, arming militias and recruiting new members.

📢🛑 New recruits joining the ranks of these militant groups represent a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement and must be dealt with firmly.

🛑 By abrogating the SoO agreement, and holding militant groups accountable, for engineering violence, the government can prevent further escalation of violence, pave the way for sustainable peace and development in the region.
