Service business -
Start a personal media company for company executives. Interview them, and create posts, tweets, and videos from that content
https://t.co/vRSgY3kX2N
6 months ago we launched @storyarb: the modern exec's personal media co.
Damn, it’s been fun.
A rare but necessary look back to capture the 2023 highlight reel:
- Grew ARR from $0 —> $1.5M
- Scaled our core team from 0 —> 5
- Built a bench of 15 top-tier copywriters
- Shipped +3,000 insights & lessons on behalf of our storied execs
- Drove +25M impressions across B2B SaaS & Finance, Marketing, Real Estate, Ecomm verticals
- Introduced multimedia to more broadly support company marketing initiatives
- Delivered some serious ROI by way of millions in investment $$, inbound Fortune 100 leads & press from the likes of WSJ
- Published our site … finally!
- Landed +$10M on our waiting list
- Launching 2 new tiers to accommodate demand. Sit tight. 🔥
More importantly, feeling super grateful to work with some insanely talented clients & partners. Much love to the founders, execs, writers & content teams that inspire us to level up our product on the daily - you know who you are.
A v special shoutout to our writers, to Magda, Yash, Natan, Grace and last but def not least, @businessbarista, for the incredible brainpower and energy you bring to this biz. It is an absolute honor to be surrounded by y’all building [and doubling down] on this mission together. 🫡
And to think we’re just started.
Personal brands are the modern brand.
2024, we're ready!
Terrible app / product idea:
Missing Puzzle Piece replacer
Take a series of photos of the missing puzzle pieces. Place a credit card next to it for accurate sizing.
Use generative AI to inpaint the missing details.
Send the piece to a printer and laser cutter to create the missing pieces.
Ship the pieces to the customer.
Experience the bliss of finally completing the puzzle.
If someone made an app that analyzed all your stock positions and then created a new basket of stocks and ETFs that represented >99% of your portfolio—but with optimized tax-loss harvesting—they would be able to capture a massive part of the retail brokerage market, because you would literally produce better returns than any other brokerage.
I'm not a math guy, but I believe this an NP-hard problem that can probably be aided with AI.
If you're building this, I will bring you your first 25 customers and invest $250K after the demo.
Saas app idea: Calendly 2.0 (AI version)
Ask your calendar, 'when would be a good time to go to lunch with Frank?'
It would look at both of your calendars and intelligently suggest a few options.
https://t.co/CPFo2dqmHD
Calendly 2.0
Generate scheduling links by "asking" your calendar. Give it baseline constraints (eg never after 6pm unless personal call) or something more subtle (eg don't let me go 3 hours without a short break). And it understands when you have multiple links live.

Yelp for HOAs
HOAs can be crazy. High fees, low to no services, super detailed restrictions.
Make a site that lists the various HOAs and ranks them.
https://t.co/iSLy4YfFpR
now that software is getting really cheap, can someone start a company that ships clients of popular tools but with VIM keybinds? Think Superhuman but for calendar, X, browser, task manager, messaging client, etc etc etc. I'd pay large dollars for this
App Sumo made $80M last year.
They did one thing right, they built something that people wanted.
Someone should create:
The App Sumo for Supplements & Health wearables 💡
Here’s why 👇
People would love to have a discount on their cold plunge
Brands would gladly offer a discount on their products in exchange for sales volume
Create The Groupon for biohacking and you will be banking 🔥
…
I would start by targeting brands that are already on Groupon
Take it and run with it 🤘
Nuclear shipyard startup idea, raise $5B at $25B, then:
$1B - new shipyard/talent
$1B - reactor tech
$1B - raw materials/supply chain (vertical and tech-enabled obv)
$2B - 2 year operational float until we get a contract for $100B to make 25 subs
Research and Info Content Product:
Study why people 'don't gain weight' when they visit Europe.
Actually do the research and help people apply to control their weight.
https://t.co/Huj0VXCp3w
Lots of Americans vacationing in Europe say the same thing:
- I didn’t eat healthy (they normally eat healthy in USA)
- I ate a lot.
- I walked normal amounts.
And yet:
- they lose weight
- feel better (less full, less achy).
Any data on why?
And What about your experience? Did you notice this too when you moved from Europe to America or Vice versus?
Saas idea - Auto post podcasts from one platform, to another.
Wanted to listen to a podcast, when I saw this:
"Catch it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify." and my heart sank. I don't use those platforms.
I want podcasts available everywhere.
Someone should build the definitive content site for @ConvertKit training and tutorials.
Thinking about what @syedbalkhi did with WP Beginner there's a huge opportunity to catch the wave early.
50,000 customers, 500,000+ users. It's a big target market.
Saas Idea - Clone Google Analytics 3.
GA4 is a dumpster fire. Clone and sell GA3.
“Huge startup opportunity to just literally rebuild GA3. Don't get creative, just 1:1 clone it.” - Danny Postma
