The Home feature for @NotionHQ is the sasquatch of the software world.
Some claim to have seen it.
There are even pictures.
But, the consensus seems to be that's it's not real.
@hobdaydesign Illustrators have had this problem for almost a century.
1. Illustrator becomes known for a particular visual style.
2. Everyone wants to hire them for that style.
3. Tastes change and the audience wants something different.
4. Illustrator's career "peaks", then crashes.
@tylercowen Not everything worthwhile can be legislated. Least of all amorphous concepts like "diversity."
Might as well legislate that professors be "nice" to each other.
@hobdaydesign Unfortunately, I see many designers RAVE about some of these landing pages.
But, I have never signed up for anything because the scrolling animations were sliiiiiiiick.
@ow Nothing beats driving around your own neighborhood at 3am listening to Beach Wave Sounds, eating McDonald's nuggets and crying with joy because that baby finally fell asleep.
@BlairDHoover@webflow Ghost has a beautiful text editor that allows you to focus on writing and creating content.
But if you want to design the site you have to buy a template, commission a design, or code it up yourself.
@BlairDHoover@webflow Blogging on Webflow is like entering data into a form.
If you're creating a personal site and want to be able to design (or have others design) the site AND publish content you're stuck with essentially an input field.
@_NYC_dev I have been using ghost but honestly don't have the time right now to build a theme or tweak a lot of css right now.
Literally, Webflow with a Ghost editor would just CRUSH for building your own website + blog.
Just attended @itsdesignertom's presentation at the https://t.co/5nffnNTC8R conference today.
One of the best presentations I've seen in a long time. Clearly articulated, actionable advice for designers looking to actually create their own POV.
