A last one from my PhD just got published! The same gene-set we used in S. cerevisiae also works in a very distant yeast such as Y. lipolytica and probably in most yeasts to enable moco-dependent nitrate assimilation https://t.co/TRYSqxLcbW
On November 1st the MB7.0 Fall meeting will take place in Amsterdam: a programme full of Microbial Biotechnology topics spanning from vaccine production to AI and exciting work in P.putida. @NBV_biotech

We have another position open at Octarine, this time for a Fermentation Scientist. Come join us in our mission to harness synthetic biology to create ground-breaking treatments for poorly-served conditions

Big part of the experiments were performed during my @pacmen_itn secondment at @DTUBiosustain. I would like to thank @Irina__Borodina and @MSCActions for the great opportunity. I believe every PhD student in life science should experience a research period abroad!

What's best than closing the academic year with two PhD committees? Warmest congratulations to Steef de Valk @TUDelft_CT and Thomas Perli @thomasperli@TNWTUDelft for your achievements - nicely wrapped in #popular designs : )
This @thomasperli 👇 from @tudelft completed a #tourdeforce study on refactoring cofactor biosynthesis in @yeast with an absolutely excellent #phd defense. Excited to be part of your committee and @pacmen_itn journey. Congratulations to you + mentors @jgdaran1 & @Jack_Pronk_ !
My group at @IMSB_ETH ETHZ is recruiting a lab technician/manager with a PhD in S. cerevisiae genetics / cell bio. ~60% time devoted to research on the functional relevance of PTMs and genetics of trait variation and ~40% on lab management

The peer-reviewed and final version is out, just published on @mbiojournal! Shout out to @rortiz_ESR, who put a lot of effort into improving the protein sequences analysis part! https://t.co/sba5OWFuhP
New pre-print out! Neo's are really cool fungi but they are hard to handle. We studied their adaptation to anaerobic environment by expressing key genes for NAD+ and CoA biosynthesis in yeast and found that this was enough to confer oxygen-independent co-factor prototrophy!
Systematic engineering of #yeast metabolism to yield a versatile cell factory platform for natural and new-to-nature #polyamines. Thanks for the collaboration @ask_jens and great lead by Jiufu Qin @DTUBiosustain - https://t.co/EQYYZm8Maz
Really cool #openaccess article from my colleague @aksnorw@pacmen_itn@IMB_TUDelft showcasing a great strategy to make yeast biotin prototroph, in the absence of oxygen! Check it out! #EU2020

Proud to share our recent publication on lactic acid transport in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae! Many thanks to my fellow co-authors @nicolobaldi, Maria Sousa-Silva, Margarida Casal, Isabel Soares-Silva and Robert Mans @IMB_TUDelft

One month to go to my #PhD defense and just placed an order for my #thesis books. Time is flying!
Here is a @pacmen_itn themed #WordCloud of the main text. A good way to summarize the topic of my #research!

Our paper is out today! We report advice on pursuing a research career from nearly 1000 postdocs. 🤚I wish I had this during my training, but even as a faculty/admin, it is much appreciated. #PLOSONE https://t.co/TkwGVo9v3P
