@bubu_noel_ob The Last Duel is also a Thai series, which received so much love from Myanmar People. The difference is how the companies did research and know to show respect others. Shouldn't say vague words under the name of 'fantasy' while the other party is proving how things are identical.
@bubu_noel_ob GMMTV has full responsiblity to address this. Staying silence makes both sides heat up. If they didn't take anything from Myanmar, then defend it with solid proofs for Thai people. If not just give official credit to the owner. This is just simple. Myanmar loves 'The Last Duel ⬇️
See?? If Myanmar people hadn't pointed out with evidence, would you say so?? GMMTV, you should stop saying vague words under the name of 'fantasy. Instead, give official proper credit to Myanmar or defend it with historical proofs at least for Thai people.

GMMTV has full responsibility to address this. Whatever right or wrong, they should come out with proofs, at least for their Thai people or their image regarding this. Being silence shows cowardice or nothing to prove.

@Neferteeti0@RRRRRRJ13 If someone knows abt diversity, he/she should know more about how to respect each other. We're pointing out the things which are identical with ours with historical facts and evidence. Should speak with solid facts rather than just saying vague words. Which/ how in the series?
@Neferteeti0@RRRRRRJ13 FYI, We have never fought for traditions and cultural identities even when we have around 135 diverse ethnicities in our country. Myanmar has conflicts just because of the governing and political situations. We, the public has mutual respect for each other's cultural heritage.
@Eileen_tcf If you say so,
Where do you draw the line between 'fantasy artistic inspiration' and 'direct plagiarism'? If a traditional costume or dance is completely identical with the owner and aiming at global audience, how can it honestly be defended as an independent, free creation?

The original Chinese series was set in the Qing Dynasty and the Korean adaptation was set in the Goryeo Dynasty, both were historical period dramas.
In contrast, Scarlet Heart Thailand adapted the story into a fictional fantasy setting where costume designers have more freedom to draw artistic inspiration from regional styles without portraying a specific historical country or requiring formal credit for public domain aesthetics.
Both Chinese and Korean versions represented their own fantasy, not other countries' heritage presentation included. Now you admitted you used others'. No one is saying you can't use that. If you use it, you have to give credit to others for what's theirs. That's so simple!
The title Scarlet Heart Thailand specifies that this is the fourth adaptation of the original Chinese IP, following the original Chinese series, its sequel and the South Korean adaptation.
When GMMTV announced Scarlet Heart Thailand, they licensed the copyrighted story from China to adapt it into a local production. Because this Thai version is in a fictional fantasy setting, costume designers can freely combine regional aesthetic influences.
Using historical court styles in fiction is not cultural theft or erasure. Drawing inspiration for a fantasy show does not take away another country’s heritage nor does it mean Thailand is claiming ownership of it.
@kathneri@Eileen_tcf China version represented its own chinese fantasy, not the other country's heritage presentation included. So did Korean version. Now you admitted you used others'. No one is saying you can't use that. So stop saying stupid excuses, just give credit to others for what's theirs.
@bzoneacc@matcharoong I just edited one word from ... this to the series.. The rest are exactly the same. So the answer is it's like plagiarisim in a thesis is found out after years. Maybe at that time fans were busy trending other series. Now not just costumes, we can alsosee other Myanmar practices
@bzoneacc@matcharoong What makes you hard to admit that it's other people's culture and to give credit? We are not saying anything abt to stop the series or change anything else. The plagirism can be found out even after sth has been released or whenever it is. It's not the thing.
@GMMTV We love the artists and also have been waiting for this. I'm sure you know about plagiarism, consent, giving credit tho. Dont you think using Myanmar treasured heritage costume in the Thai series should be acknowledged and given credit as a globally leading respectful company?
@woai2tee@Eileen_tcf No use of telling a person who has never learnt about consent or giving credit to other people's things. And dragging unrelevant things as he/she has no accurate facts to defend. Sounds like a child.
