If I fell off at your frequency I'd probably view protective gear as essential also (as I do MTBing) but it's fair to say whatever you're doing on a bike isn't representative.

Meanwhile this paper finds significant reductions in both so how does that work?

The rest is crossing roads etc (which is required unless you want to go in circles!)
