@TheRestHistory listening to the excellent series on Custer & Crazy Horse. There was debate about how to pronounce Nez Perce. I've always heard it as the anglicized pronunciation. Dominic said it correctly at one point. Sounds like "Nez Purse."
@kevinmyoung It is, potentially, "everyone in the damn world!" We obviously can't meet every need, but when we see need, we are called to try to meet it. To, as Jesus' interlocutor says of the Good Samaritan, "Show mercy."
Hey @Popeyes Why can't we get the DELICIOUS Honey Lemon Pepper in the Mix & Match meal but we can get it in the other family meals? You're making me sad...
@ostrachan Funny. One of the first things we definitively KNOW about Christian history is that Christians were deemed "degenerate," blamed for a devastating fire in Rome and lit up as human torches by the Caesar Nero - among other ghastly punishments. So...not really a fan of Caesars.
@natgrace79 Nat, this is something I say often as the pastor of a Welcoming church that does contain a mixture of views. With the next breath, I try to talk about boundaries and safety. How would you balance these things? What would help you feel safe while welcoming non-affirming ppl?
@BTRowland Don't diminish yourself. I understand not shilling or being aggressive, but your work is really great and you deserve to earn income from it! That's the state of things now, so don't hesitate to promote yourself on a regular basis. Trust those of us who love what you do!
@sheilagregoire I fully support an outlook in church where men understand we need to earn trust. We need to demonstrate awareness of misogyny and actively behave in ways that counter it. Also, upholding the boundaries and agency of children.
@sewistwrites Was reading "The Heart of Centering Prayer" by Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault this week. I didn't actually do any book reading yesterday, so I guess that's the last book I read, period.
