Just played one of the best games of my life, finishing a weekly tournament at 4.5/7! Both losses I had were in time trouble from winning positions, so I feel a breakthrough to 2000 is coming very soon! I should surpass 1950 from this tournament.

Just played one of my best endgames ever against a 1700! Especially happy with the sequence with Rd8 to trade into this endgame! Can anyone see why I chose gxf6 instead of Bxf6?

2/3 in the World Open U2200 so far, not playing my best chess, my only win was from my opponent flagging, but I have not made any serious mistakes which is good enough to draw or even win occasionally!

I took two weeks off of chess and am just coming back and I feel so much more motivated and clear in my thinking! Gained 100 points online to reach a new peak. Getting into form to play the World Open. Breaks are good!

@seankellychess @USChess They have very sketchy, misleading, and persistent sales practices. I am in an org that used them before - would not recommend. You can see all the bad reviews on reddit and the better business bureau.

@fins0905 Be weary of them, I am part of an org that used PCI and they very aggressively try to sell you things and are extremely persistent. They try to spin it as "information verification" which is just a trap for them to try to make people call them so they can make people buy things.

@ChessLobster Started that book a few months ago and I am loving it! These puzzles are really helping me think of a lot of creative ideas and connections between motifs even if I can't put together the full solution a lot of times.

I was scoring over 50% in anti-Sicilians both online and OTB but was scoring ~25-30% in Open Sicilians both online and OTB.

Went from a 90-day low to an all-time high in a little more than a week. What changed? I switched from the e6 Sicilian back to e4 e5! The passivity in some e6 Sicilian lines did not suit me. I will keep playing e5 to regain confidence as black and then try learning a d6 Sicilian.

@markparris20 The move I played right before this position was fxg, then I was clicked on the queen to take one of the knights next move. If I didn't play fxg first there was gxf+ forking my king and rook

@ChessGainz I was also thinking skewer, but wasn't sure if a skewer had to have the directly attacked piece be higher value than the piece being x-rayed

Played a pretty good game with black in my OTB 55+5 league. I liked how I baited the exchange sac with g6 and then converted the endgame well.

I think this was one of the cleanest conversions I have had in a complicated position in a while 🔥
