@mysteryman113 @Trutherbotchief Not really.. This ploy has worked lots of times in court. Also 'the sun was in my eyes'/coughing fit/boiled sweet incident/wasp/itchy knee excuse works. Almost anything works. Look at sentencing outcomes.
The difference here was that there was no court case - not yet anyway.

@neilorpen @LlamaLout @JeremyVineOn5 @Guto_Harri @FamilyLawGuruUK @theJeremyVine It's not odd that there are hundreds of reports, considering car drivers are so utterly lawless.. I didn't read every one. I'm only interested when they kill cyclists or pedestrians. I stopped reading them in 2021, when I bought a new bike and joined a group which runs cameras.

Transport cllr said there would be no cycle lanes, 20mph zones, bollards, LTNs or planters. They also boast having the cheapest parking in London.
No driver has ever even been arrested for killing a cyclist in Bromley.

@HuwGrif28963959 @gazza_d A freak accident is something that is unlikely ever to happen again. The fact is there are hundreds of doorings every year, often resulting in severe injury and occasionally death.

The woman who killed a cyclist in this way near me got off scot free.
