@JYSexton I was lucky enough to grow up in the sixties. Don’t trust anyone over 30, stick it to the man and blind faith will get you killed still resonate with me. A rebel until my last breathe.
@Justaranch Hello Rancher, I miss seeing
you. I left X and went to threads because of the melon. Checking in today because meta is down. It’s okay over there, but I haven’t made any friends. I hope you are doing well and keep up the good fight.
@Justaranch Just dropped in to say hello rancher. I’m not on this site much any more. The loon that owns it has turned my stomach, but I miss my friends. Hope all is well with you. I love this post.
Today @WilliamJRipple et al released the 2023 report on the terrifying state of our #climate.
It should be read by every policymaker, decisionmaker, and journalist on the planet.
Here is a thread of some key takeaways.

For one thousand years, humans lived in the Dark Ages. Well the majority did. The church, Kings and the aristocracy didn’t. Everyone else lived a dystopian life of drudgery to which they had to be thankful. Or else. If you went against those powers that be you’d likely be called
I spent the first half of my life on a ball field. I played softball, husband played and my kids played. There were nights when I was at four different fields. My best memories.
@Justaranch How much I miss the sound of a saddle creaking. That made my day. I haven’t ridden in about four years. Health issues, taking care of my dad and just life. Nothing like riding down a trail on a good mount all relaxed taking in nature with the rhythmic creak of a saddle.
“One morning, my mother prepared breakfast after a late night's work. My father offered to fix it but she said she wanted to.
She put a plate of eggs and burnt toast in front of my father.
I immediately noticed, the burnt toast, and I was waiting to see if he was going to complain about it. Instead, my father started to eat them. Smiling, he asked me how I spent my day at school.
My mom apologized to my dad for the burnt toast. I will never forget his response to her:
"Honey, I love burnt toast!"
Later when I went to bed and my dad came over to kiss me goodnight, I asked him if he really liked the burnt toast?
He hugged me and said, "Your mother has had a difficult day and she is really tired. She went out of her way to prepare this meal for us, why blame her and hurt her. Burnt toast never hurt anyone; but words can be very painful!””
We have to know how to appreciate what others do for us, even if it's not perfect, because it's the intention to do well that counts, and no one is perfect.
Striking to fight for a better life is a sacred right. We will NOT tolerate violence against our picket lines from the companies or the scabs they hire. Period.

Smith's Congressional district includes a foreign metals company that got a 0% loan from the Missouri state treasury THIS YEAR - one attached to sanctioned oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
And his party sells Missouri agribusiness straight to the Chinese.
I mean, it's absurd.
@Justaranch I was a teamster. My dad lost his job trying to organize a union. I’m 💯 a union supporter and it made me so proud to see Biden stand on that picket line.
