@wmata UPDATE: Blue/Yellow Line: Trains are now servicing the stations, however customers should continue to plan for longer wait times as crews continue working to resolve this issue.
@Metrorailinfo I see an alert for delays on BOS towards New Carrollton and Largo. Why has a SL to Ashburn been sitting on the platform at McPherson? Three trains have come going to NC/Largo. Are there delays in both directions?
Train op apologizing for delays “There’s been a lot going on on the rails this morning.” Yeah. Feels like it’s been that way for a week. I assume the downed circuit ahead was just outside of Franconia since we randomly stopped. But no alerts re: circuits from #wmata
A Washington Metrorail Safety Commission study has found key deficiencies remain in Metro's radio communication system, despite earlier plans for its improvement.

@Metrorailinfo Yes. I’m aware. More communication from train ops would be appreciated. Also the BL trains are showing they terminate at Arlington Cem which is no longer the case. PID’s at King St show the same.
Hey @Metrorailinfo I know it’s been a busy morning, but why is my inbound BL train stuck outside the ALX rail yard? It was announced we were accommodating personnel per usual but we never stop this long. No announcements #wmata
There was initial confusion between @wmata and @OUC_DC this morning over where the fire was located. The primary station was switched from Farragut West to Foggy Bottom mid-dispatch. The train operator first reporting the fire indicated it was Farragut West at 6:13 a.m. OUC initially dispatched that information at 6:19 a.m. The station was changed to Foggy Bottom at 6:21, eight minutes after the initial report. @dcfireems made sure both stations were covered. Early information is that the fire involved electrical components burning in the tunnel. @rachelweinerwp@AdamTuss@tomroussey7news
A Metro rider noticed charges on her credit card even though she only swiped through with her SmarTrip card. Here's what WMATA said. https://t.co/FhdvGNlcQq
At Pentagon the line for the shuttle bus to Franconia is back to the other exit (approx 6 bus stops away.) “I didn’t realize we went to an amusement park” is the perfect description I heard in passing. So tired of the shutdowns #wmata
Orange/Blue/Silver Line: Expect delays in both directions because of speed restrictions put in place due to a Pepco power problem between Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom.
Metro Shuttle Bus is stuck in traffic. Maybe they should avoid the express lanes. Gonna be late for work. Can’t wait for this latest shutdown to be over. #wmata
@Metrorailinfo are the shuttle busses supposed to offload on the access road and not at the bus stops at Franconia? During all other shutdowns they have offloaded at dedicated bus stops. #wmata
Morning @Metrorailinfo one of the PIDs at Franconia shows a Silver Line train to Largo and the other one has been displaying an error code since Thursday. Can these be fixed? #wmata
Reminder: Plan ahead for the Blue and Green Line construction this summer.
From July 5-26, track work will be done on the southern end of the Blue Line. From Aug. 2-31, work moves to the southern end of the Green Line.

NEW: Today the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission revealed that since Metro started using Automatic Train Operation on the Red Line in December, trains have overrun Red Line platforms 221 times! WMSC says it won't allow #wmata to start ATO on other lines until things improve.
BREAKING-Metro says this morning’s rush hour was the highest number of weekday rail rush hour trips since pre-pandemic. Yesterday was the highest Monday rail ridership in 5 yrs. The agency expects to carry over 1 million passengers a day on rail/bus soon #wmata@nbcwashington
