Excited to contribute and release the YUBI ecosystem at #ICRA2026 !!
This includes a UMI-inspired handheld gripper, the software stack, and the world's largest human-driven dataset using the UMI-based system:
8,434 hours, 1.20M episodes, and 119 tasks.
We have released our YUBI project site, which features an UMI-variant data collection device for VLAs.
YUBI is on display at AIRoA's Booth 073 during #ICRA2026.

Congrats to the first-author Naru Suzuki on his hard work and thanks to co-authors Tatsu Banno, Jihyun Lee, Ryosuke Furuta, and Yoichi Sato!! (5/N)
2nd announcement of the day! Thrilled to share that our paper, “Affordance-Guided Diffusion Prior for 3D Hand Reconstruction” has been accepted to #ECCV2026 !! (1/N)
Honored to share that "EgoYUBIs" received the Best Poster Award at Meta’s Research Summit for Egocentric Intelligence 2026!! It was a pleasure to present the work both orally and as a poster!! (1/N)
🏆 Best Poster Award at RSEI 2026
On July 20, Take Ohkawa (@tkhkaeio) of AIRoA presented the following work in both an oral presentation and a poster session at the Research Summit for Egocentric Intelligence 2026, held at Meta’s Redmond campus, and received the Best Poster Award.
“EgoYUBIs: Portable Robot Data Collection with Bimanual Handheld Grippers via Egocentric Perception”
The research proposes a portable robot data-collection approach combining egocentric perception with YUBI, a bimanual data-collection device, and evaluates the effectiveness of the collected data for robot learning.
Congratulations to Take and the entire development team!

Egocentric perception, SLAM, and hand-object interaction are central CV techniques for accelerating YUBI and robot learning.
This principle provides a scalable pathway to the data needed for VLAs! (4/N)
Look for collaborators on these topics:
