Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has dismissed Prof. Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from service with immediate effect, pursuant to the findings of its Internal Committee (IC).
If the said Professor and sitting Congress MP could be dismissed within a mere period of two months on the basis of the Internal Committee report, it is pertinent to inquire as to what has precluded the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and the Government of India from initiating appropriate action against Shri Nongthombam Biren Singh @NBirenSingh, who is alleged to be the principal architect of the genocide perpetrated against the Kuki-Zo community in Manipur.
Why are numerous individuals belonging to the Meitei community, who allegedly subjected Kuki-Zo women to rape and torture, still permitted to lead normal lives? Helpless and innocent women were paraded naked before the world. Why has no action been taken against those responsible for such heinous acts and against those who orchestrated the genocide against the Kuki-Zo community?
Why does such a double standard continue to prevail?

๐จ URGENT JUSTICE APPEAL: KUKI WOMAN REPORTEDLY SHOT DEAD IN KAMJONG โ WHO WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY?
The reported fatal shooting of a Kuki woman in Kamjong district on the night of 9 October 2026 demands an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation. A civilian woman's life cannot be treated as insignificant, and her death must not be buried in silence.
According to the account being circulated, Kuki women attempted to intervene when civilians were allegedly being targeted by armed personnel identified as Manipur IRB. During the incident, one Kuki woman was reportedly shot and killed. The authorities must establish exactly what happened, who fired the fatal shot, who gave the orders, and whether anyone attempted to conceal the truth.
The public also deserves answers regarding allegations involving the NSCN eastern flank, NSCN-IM, the ZUF/Kamson group, and the Shan National Army or Myanmar military-linked personnel. If anyone impersonated IRB personnel, wore an unauthorized uniform, or used official security identities to carry out violence, that possibility must be investigated through forensic evidence, deployment records, eyewitness testimony, and ballistic findings.
DEMKHONEI TOUTHANG โ THIS REPORTED KILLING MUST NOT BE IGNORED. THE VICTIM DESERVES JUSTICE, AND THE PUBLIC DESERVES THE TRUTH.
We demand that the Government of India, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Manipur Government, the National Investigation Agency, the National Human Rights Commission, and the competent judicial authorities act without delay.
United Naga Council, Senapati District Students, JTM, NPO, ANSAM, and Tangkhul civil society organizations: The public expects a clear response to this grave incident. Any credible evidence of involvement, assistance, or organizational responsibility must be examined impartially. No organization or individual should be above the law, and no community should be collectively blamed without evidence.
We demand:
1. Immediate registration and impartial investigation of the reported killing.
2. Identification of the individuals who fired the shots and any persons who ordered, assisted, or concealed the crime.
3. Preservation of forensic evidence, witness statements, deployment records, and available video footage.
4. Independent verification of the alleged identities, uniforms, weapons, and affiliations of those involved.
5. Protection and support for the victim's family and witnesses.
6. Public disclosure of the findings and prosecution of anyone against whom sufficient evidence establishes criminal responsibility.
WHY SHOULD KUKI CIVILIANS LIVE IN FEAR? WHO WILL PROTECT WOMEN WHO SPEAK UP WHEN VIOLENCE OCCURS? WHY SHOULD ANOTHER FAMILY BE LEFT WAITING FOR JUSTICE?
These are questions the authorities must answer with action, not silence. Every allegation must be investigated on its evidence, regardless of the identity, uniform, political connection, or armed affiliation of the person involved.
JUSTICE FOR THE KUKI WOMAN. ACCOUNTABILITY FOR EVERY PERPETRATOR. NO COVER-UP. NO SELECTIVE JUSTICE.
The Kuki-Zo community deserves security, dignity, and equal protection under the Constitution of India. We call for truth, justice, and accountability through the rule of law. No further civilian life should be lost, and no victim should be forgotten.
