New Forest Young Commoner, first time farmer starting from scratch. Producing quality sustainable New Forest Beef in the traditional way. Forest Bred,Forest Fed
Our lock-down potatoes are being harvested and donated to @felixprojectuk. Their volunteers are here picking in the heat and we have put to good use some very old technology. Thanks to Sopley Farms, @V8hound@Tomsforestbeef and @MrJamesMay for helping out.

What do I love MOST about what I do everyday? Its when a brand new calf enters the world like this young lady, and just 4 hrs later seems ready to conquer it. #Farmlove#calfcount 45
@Cuffnells@4CommonLand@BBCRadioSolent The New Forest is not a monoculture. There is no ‘scientific’ formula for its management. Many interconnected influences have created its unique habitats, ecology, and cultural heritage. Affect one element, you effect them all. Rather than a balance it’s a constant adjustment.
At a time when #farming#commoning is getting bad press it is important to remember that we all need farmers & to remember just how much farmers care about their animals. It is a way of life for the whole family. And we LOVE it. #proudtobeafarmer@Cuffnells@Tomsforestbeef
No one says it better than @ChrisGPackham
In the foreword to Flowers of the Forest by Clive Chatters
‘It is not the flowers, not the birds, or the badgers or the butterflies that are in most urgent need of conservation here but the people of this place,’
@insideoutsouth
Sad to see @ChrisPackham trying to undermine the huge partnership working that is enhancing @NewForestNPA biodiversity, in which he chooses to play no part or seek basic facts. Total abuse of @insideoutsouth to push #fakenews & prejudice.
Hi
My name is Lyndsey Stride and for this week my family and I will be hosting @FarmersOfTheUK. We are #NewForest#commoners and our usual twitter feed is @cuffnells. Our rights allow us to turn cattle, ponies and pigs out into the #RealNewForest. (Photo @oliverjhill_ )
2/2 How easy is it for ordinary folk to buy locally?
It isn’t easy for ordinary small commoners to sell locally.
Some New Forest commoners have successfully marketed their produce @Tomsforestbeef@hatchettdexter@NewForestMarque
In 2019 we are going to have a go!
Been up in the inclosure today where they are harvesting. The New Forest is a working forest. Many commoners have traditionally been employed in forestry. Both Robert's father and grandfather received their long service awards from the @ForestryComm
Commoners share the grazing and work together to manage their animals. 82% of common land in England is within a National Park or AONB. In recent years we have organised exchanges for @youngcommoners in Dartmoor, Lake District and the New Forest. @Tomsforestbeef@4CommonLand
So the first dish we will be offering @BellInnBramshaw using Tom Hordle’s newforestbeef will be a burger, maybe not what you were expecting but the truth is mince doesn’t take too well to… https://t.co/8l70M3qWoj
