@TrustlessState@EthCC Belgium has the best beer in the world and it's not even close. In Brussels, you can drink 3 Fonteinen and Cantillon for 1/20th the price we pay in the US. You must drink lots of beer.
Solana price may be up, but Solana DeFi is absolutely borken right now.
- Stale oracles
- Failed/Dropped transactions
- Not permissionless (restricted withdrawals, opaque rules)
- Increasing fees
Confident some of these get fixed eventually, but it is frustrating as a user.
@econoar Also, have you used Solana? I have been trying it recently and it is slow and clunky compared to Arbitrum, zkSync, Base, ... literally every L2 I've transacted on. Have these mf's even tried them?
@sweattylou@AdrianoFeria Well we've seen this play out before, both with EVM and non EVM chains. Two foremost examples are Avalanche and Solana respectively. If you really want to find an adequate answer to your question, then dig into why these two have not succeeded.
@sweattylou@AdrianoFeria An enormous network effect with participants working together to tackle the most important challenges such scalability and decentralization. History has proven that there are no shortcuts when it comes to these issues.
@gladstein Alex, do you understand anything about Ethereum at all? The protocol, the difference between the community, the foundation, the client devs, any of it?
