At (8:03) they go into DEI at US universities. Lyons's answer about DEI in admissions is at (12:30).

Lyons, "We don't do it." (We don't use affirmative action in the application process, which is illegal under CA and Federal law.)

Technically, this may be true, but consider UC's own page about, "How applications are reviewed." Factors 12 and 13 are clear proxies for race and gender. Right underneath, they even have to add some fine print.

It’s frankly absurd that the UK government prevents women from carrying pepper spray.

If it’s not going to stop the flood of fighting-age rapey men across the border, then at least give women *some* chance of protecting themselves on the streets.

And yes it’s ok to legalise it *only* for women, given they’re the vast majority of street rape victims, and men are vast majority of perpetrators. An 80/20 solution is better than no solution at all.
