I know itās become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if youāre under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.
Bernie's 5% wealth tax would:
-Raise starting teacher pay to $60,000
-Give $12,000 to a working family of 4
-Expand Medicare for dental, vision, hearing
-Guarantee universal childcare
-End homelessness
Bezos would see his wealth drop from $279 billion to $265 billion. Poor guy.
We not jealous like yall. If a 7ā6 two way player winds up being the GOAT itās perfectly acceptable Wemby has intangibles thatās just impossible for normal players to have.
Still wonāt change what Lebron accomplished and that he was the best player of his generation.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani mocks Ronald Reaganās infamous quote.
āI can think of nine words more terrifying than āIām from the government and Iām here to helpā¦āā
āI worked all day and canāt feed my family.ā
What I find the most frustrating is that all these old folks have been in office long enough to have mentored at least a dozen people who they SHOULD feel is able to carry on their legacy into the new era but they just cling to power instead.
His brand of politics is going to be the one that saves this country. Heās raising the bar and showing just how pathetic and ineffectual most politicians in this country actually are. Voters are starting to see that they deserve better. Amazing.
One of the reasons that both Neoliberals and fascists hate people like Mamdani is because he proves they are all liars who have effectively sold out their constituents to billionaire interests.
All of the pain we have been told to endure has been a choice to sate the wealthy
Paparazzi stalking lawmakers ruining the country > paparazzi stalking celebrities minding their business
Weāve been utilizing this profession incorrectly
I am tired of people thinking government agencies need to be run like a business. This will also kill many elderly and disabled people bc the USPS can deliver prescriptions to rural areas where delivery companies wonāt go
When I got my masters at a large state university I tutored for the football team. They assigned me a player who needed āa little more helpā... I asked him to write a paragraph about himself. Not a single correct & complete sentence. He read at the 3rd grade level. The worst part was that he was such a gentleman. All he wanted was to do work hard & be successful. But he failed out & went home, his dream crushed. he never knew āwhat heād done wrongā. But the reason was in fact that he was such a lovely kid. And one of the best football players in the history of his HS. And no one wanted to crush his dream by failing him because he couldnāt read or write. All that time they told themselves they were being kind & doing him a favor. This was when I discovered the immense risk of perverse incentives.
