@olivia_tyndall From my observations, kahoot has been an engaging site for all subjects at the middle school level. The trivia-type setup of the site encourages friendly competition.
@Elise93763615 Google docs, sheets, and slides allows group collaboration while everyone still works on their own laptop; sites like nearpod display responses in realtime for everyone in the group.
@Swalls725 Good point-- using technology in the right manner seemingly adds another "teacher" in the room to help with more personalized education #wuedt6020
@CanfieldBlaise That's great! It provides a great resource for students that like to move at their own pace with the ability to replay and rewatch the lessons for more clarification. #wuedt6020
@Ryan_WilmU @Annaa_Mitchell@RoeEDT TEDTalks is a great idea! Havent thought of using them but ive seen a few math related videos that my students would love. TED has a great reputation with students, as they are aware that the speakers are highly repsected in their field
@chalpin04 @McCoolWILMu I haven't used remind in the classroom for a few years, but I use it with a couple teams that I coach and its a great, simple, and safe platform for communicating with parents and their children #wuedt6020
From a math perspective, Twitter and Instagram can be used to search for and share examples of math in the real world & how it's used in other parts of the world (metric system, money conversions, distance markers, etc.) as well as errors, games, and customs using math #wuedt6020
@Santoro_Wilmu @Mgray0012 Nicole, Prodigy is a great resource to supplement learning. I also would like to include gamification in my lessons, as companies and platforms have been devoting more energy and effort into making research based, school appropriate games
@schoolcheff Good point-- while the advancements in this field have already improved dramatically, it looks primed to continue its development for the benefit of the students.
Week 3 emerging trend topic: Analytics Technologies. I feel that taking more of an analytical approach to differentiated instruction will more efficiently impact and improve individual learning for the wide range of abilities in my math classes. #wuedt6020
