@RickSteves I remember back in the 1980s the American Express office was nearby. The waits were so long to cash travelers checks, my mom and I sat for 3 hours on these steps waiting for my father to come back with lira.

I see that she has a little scratching pad. That's what she needs but something vertical. Cats scratch to mark their territory -- how high they can scratch shows other cats how big they are to other cats.

That little girl will be ruling the house soon. Dogs are generally wary of cats. Under that fur cats are nothing but muscle and claws and dogs know it.

I don't remember them doing anything specific to teach me to read. Books were everywhere.
