Molt a sovint els problemes de la normativa lingüística tenen més a vore amb com s'interpreta i com s'avalua que amb la normativa en si.
Hi ha ensenyants i avaluadors que consideren que la millor manera de prestigiar la llengua és fer-la tan inaccessible als "nadius" que els acaben fent avorrir-la i perpetuen el tòpic: "és que jo parle molt malament el valencià", un sentiment ubic que entorpix l'ús públic o escrit del nostre idioma per por a les crítiques, sempre a punt i quasi sempre inoportunes, dels puristes.
I això per no parlar dels que, directament, desconeixen la normativa de l'AVL i seguixen ancorats en els huitanta.

💐We are honored and delighted to share our new study published in the prestigious Language Teaching Research (Q1, IF 3.3), which challenge the conventional approach to tackling L2 anxiety, this time in an experimental intervention focused solely on boosting language skills (specifically L2 vocabulary knowledge) to reduce anxiety, without relying on traditional methods that target anxiety itself such as motivational strategies.
⚠️There is nothing inherently wrong with motivational techniques, but when used as an approach to reduce L2 anxiety, they are likely to appear superficially effective or relieving tension temporarily, as we cited some work in the paper already.

A big "Thank You" to my co-authors: @DrAlrabai and Richard Sparks.

📍 Highlights of this study:
✅First experimental investigation of the effectiveness of increasing language skills (specifically, vocabulary knowledge) to lower students’ language anxiety—completely without traditional anxiety‑reduction methods such as motivational strategies.
✅(Methodological) first application of the Latent Growth Curve Model (LGCM) in Applied Linguistics field on experimental data, incorporating a grouping variable. structural equation modeling.
✅Providing full correlation tables to enable open practice and full replication of our statistical tests.
A call for all researchers in L2 anxiety to adopt our perspective and replicate it in new contexts for further refinement and extension.

💡 A final note:
Because our study challenged the traditional manner in addressing language anxiety, we endured three years of unwarranted rejections from several journals. But such is the price of pioneering ideas. We are thrilled our work has finally found its rightful home in a leading, high‑impact journal.
