Alex Rodriguez asked a question. Reggie Jackson answered it.
(Shouts to the producer and rest of the desk for staying out of Reggie’s way and just letting him talk. I doubt they expected this answer. But it’s a great few minutes of television.)

Great coaching is great coaching.
It's not new, it's not the latest technology, not the latest tactical drill or play.
Great coaching is the bic pen of people development; it hasn't changed over the years.
Unfortunately, the essence of it may have been lost behind the 'latest thing', searching for the 'silver bullet' to fast-track performance.
The truth is that the wheels will often fall off the wagon when there is too much investment in the hardware & not enough in the software
If nothing bad is happening to you now, wait a bit and it will. That is just reality. My approach to life is that it is what it is and the important thing is for me to figure out what to do about it and not spend time moaning about how I wish it were different. Winston Churchill hit the nail on the head when he said, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." You will come to enjoy this process of careening between success and failure because it will determine your trajectory.
It makes no sense to get frustrated when there's so much that you can do, and when life offers so many things to savor. Your path through any problem is outlined in these principles--and in others you'll discover yourself. There's nothing you can't accomplish if you think creatively and have the character to do the difficult things. #principleoftheday
In your career, the most valuable currency is not how much you know. It's how well you learn.
In a stable world, success depended on building expertise. In a changing world, it hinges on evolving expertise.
Potential is no longer defined by ability. It's a function of agility.
“Performance coaching helped me realize and reflect on the skills I brought to my team and that I was developing while working on my Reach project,” says Sana Najafi, Reach researcher (2019-20).

The best of the best in these roles tend to embrace a "low profile, high impact" mantra.
What I love about this is the subtle recognition & connections from his peers & the athletes.
He didn't do it for this clip. We are just witnessing what was already enough for him. 1+1=3.

Is hardware important in performance? Absolutely! But neglecting the software that allows athletes to make effective decisions & review them live is often the source of many performance issues. Learn to identify the source that impacted the choice & execution; place focus there
