@MartinSLewis What about companies who don’t pay the 55p a mile, it’s optional forcing the employee to have to claim it back from the government. It should be law to pay the correct rate
Betelgeuse is fading again, and the most famous red star in the sky is starting to feel like a countdown.
It’s been dimming since August. Again. That word matters, because this star already pulled the same trick back in late 2019, when it dropped so hard that people genuinely started watching for an explosion.
Here’s the part that gets me. When Betelgeuse finally goes supernova, nobody will need a telescope or a live feed to catch it. The blast will be visible from right here on Earth, with your own eyes.
Step outside and find Orion. That red glow in the top left corner?
It’s living on borrowed time.
People are cutting back on absolutely everything.
They're buying supermarket own brands, driving less, cancelling subscriptions, staying in instead of going out and putting off purchases until they can justify the expense.
They're making sacrifices that would have seemed ridiculous a few years ago just to keep their heads above water.
But when wages disappear into rent, council tax, energy bills, food and transport, even the strictest budget can only do so much.
You shouldn't have to give up every little thing that makes life enjoyable just to afford the essentials.
If working full-time still means you can't afford to live comfortably, maybe the problem isn't your spending habits. Maybe the system is broken.
Sincere thank you to everyone who voted. Because of this great community, TWF received more votes than all other nominees combined - in both categories. You are very appreciated. 🙏
@MartinSLewis Petrol, shopping, electricity and gas. Everything keeps going up in price and rarely comes back down. No decent raise for the last 2 years. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. Life’s not massively fun for the working class.
@MizoChris Ai is a monopoly, obviously they gain more profit from Ai cards than gamers. But it also cuts the little people out of the Ai game with a cheaper consumer product. If Ai is going to be such a valuable resource, it won’t be available for SOHO\public, be behind a costly paywall
Future fun Roadster demos will include flying over the Snake River or maybe Grand Canyon and landing on its wheels and exceeding half the speed of sound
@JayzTwoCents Jay, it was friggin amazing. The technology and innovation was on another level. Who cares if you can’t buy it. A car really just did what would have been CGI in the past.
I’ve seen no other motor manufacturer pull that off. Even non car people are talking about this.
@AC_assettocorsa I have been watching Evo free roam from the Sim racing expo. I see a sim turn into simcade. The roads are two flat. Cars racing at speeds above 120mph with no cause or affect on very curved roads is total BS. It may be FOV closing speeds look really off.
