After hearing the full news, I understood that the land marked for acquisition is not even theirs. But they are protesting because there is a water body and it's catchments nearby n it would be affected if solar farm comes here.

While I cannot vouch for the credibility of their claims, my question is

- Will a solar farm in just 40 acres of land affect a waterbody?

- Solar farm is planned in a land which is not arable. Why would anyone choose a cultivable land when most of the district look barren n dry just as the one we see in the video

- I have been to Virudhunagar and it's a very harsh place with sun showing no mercy from Feb to Oct.

- While few places support agriculture with fertile black soil and thanks to NEM rains, it's still too dry for most year and that's one of the reason for the districts thriving Fireworks industry (Sivakasi is the firework capital of India for a reason)

We still have old school thoughts in rural Tamilnadu blocking developments and infrastructure projects.
