PLG Series #1
Product-led Growth is not only something we talk about at @kommunicateio. It is something that we have implemented and reaped excellent benefits from it.
We reached 500 customers without a sales team, with a CAC to LTV ratio of 1:7, no kidding!

Saw a take couple of weeks ago arguing product marketing is on its way out in the age of AI written from a heavily sales-led lens, with the underlying belief that positioning is something you can prompt your way to.
I definitely disagree. The data does as well, even harder.
Also, let's be honest we are all tired to see the AI slop narrative "it's not just a murmur from the earth, it's a tectonic plate shift" bombarded everywhere.
A Q1 2025 cut from GTM8020 had product marketing roles growing 16.7% year over year, with median PMM comp leading the entire marketing function. A function getting buried doesn't get bid on like that.
But the more interesting story is what PMM is becoming.
What I'm seeing (and what we're hiring for at Wati, where we've added 4 PMMs in the last year with another joining soon and more to come next few quarters):
1. PMM is shifting from sales-enablement-first to product-and-brand-first. The old shape with battle cards, one-pagers, sales decks on demand still matters, but it's not just it. The new shape sits closer to the product, owns the narrative, drives adoption, simplifies onboarding and treats positioning as a thing you earn through customer truth, not generate through a prompt.
2. The lines between PMM, Growth PM, and Brand are getting blurrier on purpose. The best PMMs I know and in my team: we work on experiments like a growth PM, think about story like a brand marketer, and still know how to enable a customer facing team.
3. AI compresses the busywork, not the judgment. AI can draft the launch email. It can't tell you which segment to launch into, why this wedge beats that wedge, or what the customer actually felt the first time they used the product. Judgement takes the cake and so does the taste.
So yes — the shiny old NYC style vintage PMM, the one whose calendar was 80% sales asks, might feel the floor shifting.
Fair.
But what's rising in its place is sharper, more strategic, and frankly more fun to do.
The headstone is for the role that should've evolved a long time ago. The one stepping over it is the one I'm betting on.
We're sponsoring the @Meta Conversations flagship event in London — and we're on the floor!
WhatsApp. Messenger. Instagram. The biggest business messaging event of the year, and the Wati team is here for it.
Be sure to find us at Booth #4, The Junction, Level 1, Central Hall Westminister and come say hi!
Launching MCP for our Astra AI agent builder has quietly become the most useful shift in how I work this quarter.
What it actually means: I now create, test, manage, and ship every Wati agent directly from Claude. The agent I'm talking to is helping me build the agents we ship and the loop is shockingly tight.
Three things that used to be a slog and are now a conversation:
1️⃣ Iterating with full context. I can pull threads from previous chats, refine what I built last week, and push the new version live without ever leaving the window.
2️⃣ Customer demo agents. Spinning up a tailored agent for a prospect call used to be a project with handoffs. Now it's a five-minute back-and-forth.
3️⃣ Our own Wati AI agent on the website and WhatsApp — fully tested in the wild, and now sending me a weekly rundown of leads. By itself. (Felt strange the first time. Now it's the best part of my Monday.)
This is where agent-building is heading. Not a dashboard with forty tabs and a config file you pray you didn't break. A conversation with the tool that already understands your context, your customers, and every iteration you've shipped.
Short walkthrough in the video.
To bigger, better things.

Aren't you guys tired of this country's mismanagement? Life is not supposed to be this difficult for citizens. It's not like this in other countries. Please stop defending the government.
Being realistic used to be great. Not anymore. Being realistic is chaining one hand while you wave a magic wand with the other. I have a belief that borders on delusional: one can do almost anything one sets their mind to, especially in B2B SaaS.
Because here's what nobody puts on the scale: pessimism has a cost too. It just hides it better. The career you didn't build. The pitch you didn't make. The bet you watched someone else win. No audit trail for that — but the bill comes due all the same.
Success doesn't come from accurate self-assessment. It comes from undiluted belief, applied stubbornly, in the face of a tide that's mostly telling you to sit down.
