βοΈThe @IGADsecretariat's Regional Training of Trainers on Public Emergency Health Emergency Management (PHEM) is ongoing in Entebbe, Uganda.
π₯ΌThe training aims at equipping technical One Health experts with skills and knowledge required to keep zoonotic diseases under control, to protect and save lives and livelihoods.
Representing the Executive Secretary @DrWorkneh, the IGAD Head of Mission to Uganda, Ms. @BigirwaJoselyn emphasized the need for building technical capacity of One Health experts to prepare, detect early and rapidly respond to zoonotic diseases and other public health emergencies particularly at the cross-border areas and Point of Entries within the IGAD region.
Stakeholders re-echoed the need for regional collaboration, coordinated action, information sharing and sensitization among others for enhanced global health security.
