₹12,300/month — barely ₹410 a day.

That is what MBBS & BDS interns in Jammu & Kashmir receive while working in OPDs, wards, emergencies, night duties and patient care.

Their demand is simple: ₹12,300 → ₹30,000/month.

Interns across J&K have been on an indefinite strike since 31 August. After years of representations and verbal assurances, another assurance is not a solution. They need a written, notified Government Order.

UDF urges @CM_JnK @OmarAbdullah @sakinaitoo @HealthMedicalE1 to ensure that the pending matter is expedited, necessary financial concurrence is obtained, and a concrete decision is notified without further delay.

Young doctors asking for fair remuneration for the work they perform is not an unreasonable demand.

₹12,300 is not dignified remuneration in 2026. The wait has been long enough.

🚨 How many cries for help does a resident doctor have to make before the system acts?

For months, Dr. Asiya Khan (@asiyakhane3ba), a DNB Surgery resident at Saifee Hospital, Mumbai, has been publicly raising serious allegations of ragging, mental harassment, inhumane working hours, being removed from surgical work and pressure to resign.

She approached @NBEMS_Official.
She tagged @MumbaiPolice and @CPMumbaiPolice .
She repeatedly asked for help publicly.

And now, the latest reports are deeply disturbing — Dr. Asiya is reportedly in the ICU after ingesting cresol.

Her X timeline is not a sudden complaint. It is a documented trail of repeated distress and repeated appeals for intervention.

This now demands an urgent, independent and time-bound investigation:

• What action was taken on her complaints by NBEMS?
• Were her allegations against the concerned institution and individuals properly investigated?
• Were adequate steps taken to protect her after she repeatedly expressed severe distress?
• Why did the situation allegedly continue despite multiple public warnings?

We urge @NBEMS_Official, @MumbaiPolice, @CPMumbaiPolice, @CMOMaharashtra and Hon’ble CM @Dev_Fadnavis to intervene immediately, ensure her safety and treatment, preserve all relevant records and conduct a fair investigation into the entire sequence of events.

Accountability must begin before another resident doctor reaches the breaking point.

A re-exam may be necessary for the 2,445 affected #NEETPG2026 candidates in Jaipur — but fairness cannot stop there.

These candidates absolutely deserve a fair opportunity after the examination-centre failure. But the remaining 2.63+ lakh candidates also deserve answers.

A different question paper will now be conducted on September 5. So @NBEMS_Official must transparently explain:

• How will scores of the re-exam be equated/normalised with the August 30 examination?
• How will differences in difficulty between the two papers be accounted for?
• Can this process alter the AIR/ranks of candidates who already appeared on August 30?
• What methodology will ensure that neither group is advantaged or disadvantaged?

The normalisation/equating methodology must be made public before the results, not explained after ranks are declared.

More importantly, a career-defining national examination involving lakhs of doctors cannot repeatedly be put at risk because of preventable administrative or technical failures.

The Jaipur incident deserves a thorough investigation, accountability must be fixed, and stronger mandatory backup & contingency systems must be put in place so this is not repeated in future examinations.

Supreme Court calls for institutionalisation of the national exam system; gives Centre 3 weeks to file an affidavit on NTA reforms.

Hearing the petition filed by @udf_bharat regarding NEET-UG integrity, the Hon’ble Bench (Justice P.S. Narasimha & Justice Alok Aradhe) emphasised that exam reforms cannot remain ad hoc and must mirror institutional models like UPSC.

Key demands submitted by UDF:
• Replace NTA with a Statutory National Examination Authority via an Act of Parliament

Dear fellow Indians, Please help suffering first year PG medical students of BJ Government Medical College Pune

First year PG residents of this college are forced to work 36-100 hours at a stretch with no week off

Also they are forced to stay at hostel which is inside hospital premises

Last month I received complaints from a few first year PG medical students of BJ GMC, Pune and filed three complaints on CPGRAM to various relevant bodies. Also filed a complaint with National human Rights Commission. But still they are under process.

Today I sent complaint directly to CMO, Maharashtra and state Human rights commission of Maharashtra

I kindly request every doctor associations, individuals & well-wishers of doctors community to use all means available at their disposal to ensure work-life balance for these children

I was informed the seat leaving penalty is 30 lakh which makes the situation harder for these young doctors

UPDATE: In our petition challenging the drastic reduction of the #NEETPG2025 qualifying cut-off, the Union Govt. @MoHFW_INDIA has informed the Hon’ble Supreme Court that it has constituted a @DghsIndia-led 12-member Expert Committee to comprehensively review the NEET-PG admission system and recommend reforms.

The Hon’ble Court has granted 8 weeks for submission of the report.

As petitioners, we will also submit our recommendations before the Expert Committee. Stakeholders are invited to share constructive suggestions with us ([email protected]).
