@RunCoachTripp 100%. We had a kid come down with the flu at state. Our alternate stepped up big time and got our 400m and 800m relays to finals. He got a 7th place medal and put us in a position for the 400m relay to get 4th when the original runner came back.
@coachjayjohnson Best thing that ever happened to me was to be the head track coach at a small school with no other coaches my 1st year of teaching. Made me learn all the events at age 23. I’ve never been an assistant coach.
@KevinRomeis@NFL_DovKleiman Exact opposite. Low dose, high intensity. His speed/strength coach is one of the best in the business. https://t.co/Mt2qau7w8D
Never forget when these idiots came out with no shirt on in 20 degree temps to show “toughness,” & got beat by 25
Some coaches promote some dumb eyewash
If a coach is telling you to sport specialize they do not have your best interests in mind. You will never convince me otherwise…There is a ton of development that comes with being a multiple sport athlete that translates to the other sports you do!
@CoachDistance When I started coaching in 94 nobody ran over 30 mpw. Most of it was easy running too. I found a lot of success with Knudson’s speed based training. Now it’s mileage plus speed. The best of both worlds.
@LeBronJacob5@HurrdatSports Yeah, they aren’t doing much. I’d trust the coach. They are D1 and not just a parent coaching a club team. I’m sure they have their plyos programmed correctly.
