A few years ago, in 2024, the IMF advised Nigeria to remove electricity subsidy totally. And today, the Minister of Power stated that they will remove power sector subsidy completely in 2027. Right from the inception of this government, they have removed fuel subsidy, devalued the currency, increased electricity tariff and divided it into bands. As if that is not terrible enough for the common man, they plan to remove power sector subsidy totally. All these foreign-backed policies make life better by worsening things for the poor rather than helping their lives.

A friend of mine is working in a big Chinese firm in Abuja as a translator for the Chinese and she is earning N2.5m monthly with free accomodation.

She helps them translate Mandarin to their customers/Clients and then translate the English from their customers to them in Mandarin.

Na Anambra babe, a masters degree holder but learning Mandarin changed her life. She has even been to their head office in China and spent like two years there. All the Igbo wey e dy speak since wey them born am no carry am pass head bridge o.

If we do not get better leadership, my kids will most likely not grow up in this shithole but even if they do, I will make sure they learn better languages that will give them an advantage on a global scale.
