“My brother and I have not been able to visit our father for years. For the past six months, we haven’t even spoken to him. What my father is going through is a violation of his human rights.” - Sulaiman Khan, son of Imran Khan, addressing a press conference.
The Supreme Court has ordered that Imran Khan be allowed to speak with his children. Yet the authorities continue to deny him this basic right, in addition to refusing visas that would allow @Kasim_Khan_1999 and Sulaiman Khan to travel to Pakistan to see their father.

Pakistan: “A lion trapped in a cage: Imran Khan’s ongoing solitary confinement is an inhuman cruelty. The international order has remained conspicuously silent about Khan’s ordeal, but a coalition of cricket captains remains hopeful." https://t.co/h8kB2WaqzV
Prime Minister @andyburnham and Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband : how much longer will Britain remain silent?
For three years the father of my two sons, and Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been brutally penalised by his political opponents, in a personal vendetta by Army Chief, Asim Munir, which according to the UN, amounts to torture and which is now taking a potentially fatal toll on his physical and mental health.
He has endured 3 years of solitary confinement. For nearly ten months now his family has been denied contact with him. He has been deprived of the most basic human contact, denied access to books, lawyers and doctors.
The international human-rights standards are unequivocal. Under the UN’s Nelson Mandela Rules, solitary confinement lasting more than 15 consecutive days is prohibited and amounts to torture.
He has endured this treatment not for 15 days, but for three years.
Pakistan’s own Supreme Court has now intervened: ordering comprehensive medical treatment, access to his personal doctor, regular family visits and twice-weekly calls with his sons.
Yet those orders are being defied.
This is no longer simply a Pakistani political matter. It is a human-rights emergency.
He has deep and lifelong ties to Britain. He studied at Oxford University, captained Oxford University cricket and spent years playing county cricket in England. His relationship with this country stretches back more than half a century. His charitable activities were internationally recognised, and include building the only free cancer hospital in Pakistan as well as a university.
His sons, my two boys, Sulaiman and Kasim, are British citizens. They have been forced to watch their father’s health decline from thousands of miles away, prevented from visiting him, denied visas, publicly threatened by government officials with arrest themselves, and even denied court-mandated regular phone calls.
I have repeatedly appealed to the UK government to intervene. Purported attempts at back channelling have evidently failed. The previous Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy informed me in writing that Britain would not intervene if my sons, British citizens, are arrested when they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.
@FCDOGovUK: Britain must now speak out publicly and unequivocally. Demand that Pakistan comply with its own Supreme Court; restore Imran Khan’s medical access, his right to see his family, end his prolonged isolation and uphold his fundamental human rights.
Pakistan is a Commonwealth country. Britain has a long and proud tradition of standing against arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and the denial of fundamental rights. Those principles mean very little if we invoke them only selectively and neglect them when inconvenient.
This an appeal to the new Burnham government to please now do the right thing.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, you and most of your brother/sisters of the Pakistan SC, have violated your oath, and shamelessly surrendered before the Pakistan Establishment, out of fear.
But see what Qazi Sirajuddin, Qazi-e-Subah of Bengal did in 1490 AD ( a historical incident recorded in his book 'History of Bengal' by Charles Stewart ).
The Qazi too was afraid of the wrath of the Sultan ( just as you are afraid of the wrath of the Pakistan army ) if he summoned him to his court. But fear of God ( who would ask him on the Day of Judgment when he had to appear before Him why he did not do his duty ) prevailed over fear of the Sultan https://t.co/ZWsFAdRfdC
It seems to me you have no fear of Allah

PRESS RELEASE
PTI Demands Immediate and Independent Cardiac Care for Imran Khan Following Denied Diagnostic Tests
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram has strongly condemned the continued failure of authorities to conduct a CT Coronary Angiography for PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, despite the procedure being recommended by government-appointed doctors.
In a statement issued by the PTI Central Media Department, Sheikh Waqas Akram stated that a government medical board examined Imran Khan on August 10 following complaints of heart palpitations and severe headaches. He noted that a PIMS cardiologist had already recommended a CT Coronary Angiography on August 1 due to fluctuating blood pressure, restlessness, and potential risks of cardiac complications given his age and prolonged isolation.
“Even the government’s own doctors considered this diagnostic test medically necessary,” Sheikh Waqas Akram stated. “Yet when Imran Khan was taken to PIMS, the procedure was not performed. Hospital officials reportedly claimed the required equipment was unavailable, despite the presence of a functional CT scanner in the radiology department capable of conducting the test.”
He said the incident has intensified deep concerns regarding repeated delays and apparent negligence in providing Imran Khan with timely and appropriate medical care.
“A former Prime Minister was taken to a government hospital in the middle of the night, assessed by doctors who recommended an essential cardiac investigation, and then returned to Adiala Jail without the test being conducted. This cannot be dismissed as an isolated administrative lapse; it reflects a deeply troubling pattern.”
Sheikh Waqas Akram further pointed out that the required specialist facilities were fully available at Shifa International Hospital. He emphasized that despite a Supreme Court order regarding Imran Khan’s comprehensive medical examination and treatment at Shifa International, authorities bypassed the directive and instead transferred him to a facility where the CT Angiography was ultimately withheld.
“When the necessary facilities were available at Shifa International, deliberately taking Imran Khan to a hospital unable or unwilling to perform the procedure raises a grave question: was the decision made in advance to prevent the CT Coronary Angiography from being conducted?” Akram asked. “Authorities must explain why he was not taken to the facility specifically designated for his medical care.”
Sheikh Waqas Akram dismissed government assertions that Imran Khan was receiving adequate medical attention. He noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to form an inquiry committee only underscores systemic failure—raising serious questions as to why the medically recommended test was not conducted in the first place, why inter-departmental coordination failed, and why directives regarding Shifa International were ignored.
PTI Demands:
Immediate Execution: The urgent performance of the recommended CT Coronary Angiography at Shifa International Hospital under the direct supervision of independent specialists and Imran Khan’s personal physicians.
Full Transparency: The prompt disclosure of all complete medical records, reports, and diagnostic results to his family, personal medical team, and legal counsel.
Judicial Compliance: Full implementation, in letter and spirit, of the Supreme Court’s order regarding his comprehensive medical examination and care at Shifa International Hospital.
Independent Investigation: A transparent, non-partisan inquiry into why Imran Khan was diverted to PIMS instead of Shifa International and who ordered the withholding of the recommended diagnostic procedure.
BREAKING NEWS: 22 Former international cricket captains have once again written a letter to Pakistan PM over the treatment for Imran Khan. They first wrote a similar letter in February and this one comes after Pak allegedly didn’t completely comply with SC directions.
They have laid down 3 demands:
1. That the medical board directed by the Supreme Court — including Mr Khan's own doctors — be permitted to complete a full and independent assessment of his health, particularly the reported loss of vision in his right eye.
2. That the weekly family visits reinstated by the Court be honoured without interruption or administrative delay.
3. That whatever the outcome of that medical assessment, the treatment recommended by it be provided without delay.
Three Indians - Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Dilip Vengsarkar are among the 22 former captains.

Another sugar scandal. The rulers can’t stop making billions. Export sugar and you make money. Import & make more money. Then again export because more sugar is available. Cycle continues. Each time money goes out from the poor citizens.
