When the GOP trifecta assumes power in just a few months, they will pass laws, and those laws will be terrible, and they will cast long, long shadows.

There is no safe place in #Gaza.
Thousands of Palestinians – mostly women and children – have been killed and injured.
With @iascch we call on Israel to fulfil its legal obligation to facilitate aid operations.
We need an immediate ceasefire.

Six unions are calling on @JustinTrudeau and @melaniejoly to reverse the suspension of UNRWA funding. The safety and security of millions of Palestinians is at stake. #Gaza
The Canadian gov't cut funding to @UNRWA, the ONLY organization able to save lives in #Gaza, even though they had received no evidence of wrongdoing and an independent investigation was underway. Someone needs to be accountable for abandoning Palestinians in their greatest need.
One of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS your city could do to become more healthy, sustainable, livable, affordable, equitable, successful — stop pretending to “balance” transportation modes, and commit to PRIORITIZING walking/rolling, biking, public transit. HT @dublincycling’s graphic
For what it's worth, here's an update on my efforts to get UPEI to provide internal documents related to the Rubin Thomlinson review.
Initially the university said it would cost CBC $5,160 to receive the documents. I pared down my request.
The new fee estimate is $660, BUT...

🚨THIS is how you respond to encampments 🚨
✅ build a multiagency team
✅ take your time
✅ work with each person
✅ solve encampment with housing, not enforcement
Also interesting to note role of federal disaster team

In mediation, the @UPEI Board/Admin refused to allow @UPEIFA faculty to vote on their final offer and they refused to agree not to retaliate against us as part of a back to work protocol. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised by this. It is the culture @UPEI created by the Board/Admin
It's sad to see @UPEI take this route. They never intended to negotiate in good faith. They've drawn out the strike, likely to hurt us students and pit us against the FA
We could have been in class this whole time, but UPEI insists on maintaining a harmful status quo.
I can't tell you how many times I hear from people that green energy solutions to the climate crisis are great, but "would never work in Canadian winters." ☃️
To prove just how wrong that sentiment is, I put an air-source heat pump in my own home. And guess what? It works. 🧵
