@metaskills Hahaha, I use both of those the most.
I liked Ghostty, but I can’t copy termcaps to every system I ssh to and tmux goes kaboom without it :(
@rchrdbyd@realchrisebert@ranman Can confirm - also, all the videos are on YouTube shortly after, so I prioritize everything else over sessions that’ll I can watch for free at my leisure.
Sunday morning musings. Many of our security "standards" are written in the form of "Have good dental hygeine" instead of "brush x2/day, floss, see dentist yearly". Then, when we get a security "cavity", we are shocked and appalled. Some examples (plz correct if I'm wrong) 1/x
@sgblank re: clearances; the SSBI is gone, replaced by Tier5 / Tier5R investigation types. Also, you can submit someone for an clearance without hiring them at all, as a prospective hire. a LOT has changed in this world in the last 3 years, mostly for better.
The CodeCommit deprecation notice was deleted from re:Post. It would be wonderful if someone from AWS would say what is going on? For example, what services are being deprecated, what are the timelines, maybe how we should align expectations with AWS? Here's what was deleted.
@ben11kehoe Incompetence in providing a service you’re being paid to provide is a lack of care in my book. It’s maybe not malicious, sure. I don’t think customers aren’t in the equation at all, so no malice to us.
And this is an internal surprise for them too (at least our tam, SAs, etc) 🙃
@ben11kehoe They’ve already done it with no care though. Care is some kind of announcement and a roadmap/plan. Not a forum post saying “oh we killed that last month, you might be able to get an exception”.
@ranman@GeorgeWHerbert We use codecommit as much as pipeline and sqs and sns and in the same way - an internal primitive for iac based pipelines that we don’t have to worry about 3rd parties with. 8-figure spend. Great for cell-style arch’s and minimizing blast radius and cred usage.
What in the actual shit? Codecommit is apparently dead as of…over a month ago with no public notice and no roadmap / timeline?
@jeffbarr this is not meeting customers where they’re at, or really meeting them at all…
AWS's new way of killing services without announcement but instead just making them not available for new accounts is a very bad way of doing things.

@VaDOTHR why do the road signs say all lanes open for the HRBT but the 511 site says all travels lanes blocked? Spending an hour I could have avoided on the bridge…
