@shri_chaudhari@X@MBabhulkar a money app made for couples is a nice niche. student in greece building a tauri app with claude. does it keep shared and personal spending separate or is it all one pot
@tazqen a windows workspace for coding agents fills a real gap, most of the nice tools are mac first. student in greece, building a tauri desktop app with claude and cursor. which agent do your alpha users run the most
@EveryDevAi the scary part is how normal it is to have mcp tokens sitting in a json file next to everything else. has anyone found a clean way to keep those in the os keychain instead
@stas_sorokin_@0xMfox one check out of 70 for about a third less per run is an easy trade. strange that the env var did nothing and a 7 line agent file did. was the one check haiku missed a reading mistake or just noise across 10 runs
karpathy had claude filter 43M hacker news comments down to the 6,454 videos people keep recommending. about 2 hours with opus 5.5
by hand: a google cloud api key, a vps and the domain
what project have you been putting off that might only take a weekend now
Weekend hack: HackerTube. I was annoyed with YouTube's recommendations so I had Claude filter down 43M comments over 20 years of HN to 6,454 videos that keep being recommended. *Significantly* better viewing experience, ~2 hours with Opus 5.5:
https://t.co/JIhXN7OSh1
- Excellent recs without any logins (state is kept in local browser session)
- Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads
- Underlying data from the comment analysis as one zip file, point your Claude at it and ask for your own version
- HackerTube Longs ✊
A bit more on the process:
I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing.
Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.

@YuryBreiNovaSt 16 to 47 in 3 days just from replies is a good week. greek student here, building a tauri desktop app with claude. what are the tester spots for, what's the app
@wikiwayne greek student building a tauri desktop app with claude and cursor. which local model on your desk actually holds up for coding, or does that still go to the big ones
@_MrCode_ 5 points is a lot for a .2 release to close. mythos showing up in site code feels closer to shipping than a name in usage logs. do you track coding scores separately too, the overall index can hide that
@Novlyx refusing the remake but helping decompile the same game says the rule reads the wording, not what you're doing. has the design doc in the repo trick actually fixed a refusal for anyone yet
@Astrodevil_ the 60% vs 6% split got me, disagreeing moves people ten times more than agreeing. and 77% reused its arguments while only 15% credited it. do you think most people even notice when they've been convinced
@eng_khairallah1 medium over max is the part people will skip. max feels safer, but for everyday edits i'd guess it's mostly extra waiting. does he switch up for big refactors or is it medium for everything
@mangoesium audio never leaving the mac is a strong promise for that kind of app. greek student here, building a tauri app with claude. is the transcription running on whisper or apple's own speech api
