A major mishap was narrowly averted on the Eastern Express Highway in Thane after a massive birthday banner installed on a foot over bridge at Teen Haat Naka suddenly collapsed. The heavy banner fell directly onto the busy highway below, striking a passing motorcyclist on the head. While the rider miraculously escaped without major injuries and multiple vehicles narrowly avoided a crash, the incident has sparked widespread concern. Citizens are now raising sharp questions against the local administration regarding who permitted the installation of the banner on public infrastructure and why basic safety norms were completely ignored.

#WATCH | Palghar: SP Yatish Deshmukh says, "...A tempo carrying 30 to 40 people was driving on the wrong side of the road on the Gujarat-Mumbai road. A container was coming from the opposite direction and collided with the side of the tempo, resulting in the death of 13 people and an additional 16 hospitalized. The police and city administration initiated rescue efforts. Traffic was normalized immediately."
