Advanced packaging is one of the most important developments in modern semiconductors. As the effect of Moore's law becomes more pronounced and traditional transistor scaling slows, the next domain to improve performance is by stacking chips vertically and integrating them more tightly through advanced packaging.
3D-packaging provides for multiple benefits including shorter signal paths, lower latency, higher bandwidth and better energy efficiency.

At @BluehillVC, we are investing across the semiconductor value chain, including in the material science part of the value chain.
I am speaking at @umaginechennai tomorrow in 2 sessions. First, I am moderating a Fintech panel with Mohan of IppoPay, Prabhu of M2P Fintech & Rajeev Mecheri. Later in the day I am speaking at the @itntHub pavilion.
Look forward to catching up with everyone there!
There has been a glut of capital available in India's deep-tech ecosystem at the lower end of the spectrum with grants, angel investors, angel networks, pre-seed, seed & pre-series A stage funds all clamoring for limited "quality" deals. However, the biggest question on the minds of mature investors in this space has been the availability or lack thereof of later stage capital in Series B and Series C for deep-tech.
In that context it is quite heartening to see interest from players like General Catalyst to participate in manufacturing and defense tech opportunities in India, along with interest from funds like Accel & Peak XV. This would go a long way in deepening the deep-tech ecosystem and pave the path for more exits for early investors.
The attached article from the @EconomicTimes is a good read covering that thesis. @BluehillVC
I appreciate Dr. Anshul's quest promoting more protein and eggs. Good, nutrient rich food indeed. But have to correct his and many Indians' misconception.
India is NOT the "diabetic capital" of the world. Sure, due to a large population India has high number of diabetics too. But China, which consumes a lot of meat, takes the cake for "Diabetic capital of the world."
It has 1.4x India's number of diabetics. Both absolute numbers at 140 million and also by per 100,000 prevalence rate. Also, China consumes per-capita at least 5x eggs and 20x meat consumption of India.
If you do not believe me, Grok my post, ChatGPT it, Gemini it. I will do it myself in reply. Stop calling India the diabetic capital of the world. It is not true and per-100000 diabetes rate in India is much lower than a lot of countries like Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Mauritius, Malaysia, Pakistan etc in diabetes.
Yes, when we get programmed in mind to believe something about our country, it indeed feels very difficult to let go of the opinion. But I urge you to verify the facts yourself and please let go of misconceptions about India.
And more importantly stop unnecessary over consumption of protein (> 1g / kg of body weight for a non-athletic / non-body builder adult) making eggs, milk, meat costly for the poor and actually protein deficient in India. 🙏
Everyone should be using this website to understand the inside of an LLM.
I'm surprised more people don't know about it. Benjamin Bycroft made this beautiful interactive visualization to show exactly how the inner workings of each of the weights of an LLM work.

Random PSA: box breathing has been exceptionally effective for me -- I wish I'd discovered it sooner. After around a minute of it, I reliably can start sleeping wherever I am. Useful with jet lag adjustment, random naps in the back of a car, etc.
(Box breathing: inhale, hold, exhale, hold, with each step lasting five seconds.)
My remarks at the Oxford Union almost a yr ago have made their way across social media. I gave a perspective on what has changed in India, citing events & anecdotes to support my argument. I’m overwhelmed to see how it has resonated with so many of you.🙏

you know you’ve got your new system’s core abstractions right when things you didn’t explicitly design for that used to be complex become incredibly simple
