Deeply anguished by the incident in Devalampeta village, Chittoor district, where unidentified individuals burned the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on October 2. This act is not just vandalism but a direct assault on the dignity, self-respect, and constitutional rights of Dalits.

I have filed a complaint with the National SC Commission, urging immediate investigation, strict action against the culprits, and reconstruction of the desecrated statue. Repeated attacks on Ambedkar statues in Andhra Pradesh are deeply disturbing and undermine the confidence of marginalized communities.

The National SC Commission has acted swiftly following my complaint. Notices have been issued to the District Collector and SPs, requiring a detailed report within 30 days. The Commission has warned of personal appearance if deadlines are not met, reaffirming its commitment to protect the dignity and rights of Scheduled Castes.
