#EagleAct was a bipartisan Bill that would have brought equality. @RepZoeLofgren @LeaderHoyer did not keep up the promise to get #Hr3648 for voting.

Thanks @DiverseIssues for a great write-up of our College in the Time of Corona (CITC) Study. Readers of @insidehighered@chronicle and @timeshighered may also be interested in how students experienced the transition to remote instruction in Spring 2020 https://t.co/AAfAodacwB
@JaysonChung1 Thanks for sharing. Additionally, there are many places in the world with very low Internet accessibility and we could resort to some old approaches which were used just when the Internet boom was happening. This article was shared by @imiyapan on the DB: https://t.co/mHHRYhdSOT
Biggest take away from NMC report - technology is fast paced and it has intruded the educational landscape. But is it within the reach of students from all backgrounds - not really. How do we make our classrooms really flat? #digitalequality#EDU6323
@nlgrrt True learning happens only we open ourselves to limitless possibilities. Barriers only restrict our learning and as educators we must continuously evolve and keep ourselves abreast with the latest trends in the field.
I feel inspired by Wesch's approach on anthropology! His concept of participant observation (which we heard of from his 1st video) can be seen in Life 101. He extended his PLN to his students. And for a professor to do that, it is quite an amazing thing. #EDU6323
@StevenC28591147 Yes this is a real challenge - how do we truly flatten our classroom walls? The Horizon report is exclusive to American schools and still there is awareness here. But on a side note, these same problems are exponentially much bigger in under developed countries.
@aplavetsky Yes well said but provided the peers are honest and humble enough to share their learning! PLNs are highly advantageous if we are part of the right network among the right set of people.
The purpose of a PLN is to derive knowledge and exchange ideas from others in the same field. I resonate with Palloff and Pratt - learning cannot occur within a PLN community if “honesty, responsiveness, relevance, respect, openness, and empowerment” are absent! #EDU6323
Even though we associate PLNs with technology, it more to do with the relations and connections we make. Technology is just a medium. The basis of the connection is something much more deeper. #EDU6323
@MichelJenning16@StevenC28591147@nmlark@Victori11777780 Students are often reticent about leaving about honest feedback for fear that it could affect their grades. Hence, anonymous polling helps gain honest and insightful feedback which in turn can enable an instructional designer/facilitator to improve the course they designed.
@taylanicolerose I agree, it provides instructors with instantaneous feedback as it is coupled with technology. It helps the facilitator understand the shortcomings of the course too through student feedback. This article touches upon how polls enhance student engagement:

@bwatwood@meresittmann @Sarah80177722 I loved Kathy Dyer's blog on the digital technology tools for implementing formative assessment. She suggests quite a few for student responses - I found PollDaddy and Google Forms useful.
Just for fun I tried this out on PollDaddy: https://t.co/L8yq3mqHlj #polldaddy#EDU6323
@madrock25 It is a great tool to make even those students express their thoughts who are otherwise reserved. Also a poll result can be assessed in one snapshot for the instructor. An easy way to see the progress of the class - very helpful to deal with a large online community. #EDU6323
Digital polling directly ties into enhancing a student's learning experience because it can provide instantaneous feedback and pinpoint the progress of each student. It also reaches out to students who are introverts and helps the educator to reach out to them! #EDU6323
@navelos @aplavetsky @nlgrrt @LisaOtten2 I feel restricting screen time for children actually begins with the parent. Adults are constantly on their devices in front of their child, who in turn, are mocking their parents. Read this on how should adults realistically limit screen time for kids? https://t.co/EWABtuaYyL
@Victori11777780 However, from an educator's perspective to be economical, the resource which @bwatwood shared (Screencast-O-Maatic) is the best as it is a free web product. It serves the purpose and helps teachers to share their PPTs with their students. Most faculty at NU also use Kaltura.
