🚀 Excited to share our latest preprint on medRxiv! 🚀
In our new work with Maria Gutierrez-Arcelus, we bridge the gap between #GWAS genetic risk and #Bcell pathology in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

A ver.

caQTL COLOC with ~50% MORE GWAS loci than eQTL alone! But again, as most colocalized caQTL don’t influence gene expression in the same context, these caQTL-only GWAS loci may causally mediate disease risks in still other unprofiled cell types/states.

@jillahjillah@CommsMedicine@martinmaiers @PN0rmski Nice work! In 2020, we explored how race/ethnicity and genetic ancestry are related to the chances of finding donors in the Brazilian registry. We found that genetic ancestry in the MHC is the strongest predictor of decreased matching rates https://t.co/zLqpW8xUL2
In San Fran for the 1st time. Tour guide said to come here & not even look at a menu, just ask “what are you making today?” We did that & the very old waitress said “yes I make you food” and took our menus and walked away. This is about to be the best meal of my life.
We found that proteins with trans-pQTLs but without cis-pQTLs are under much stronger selective constraints than those with cis-pQTLs, and they are highly enriched in GWAS loci. Therefore, trans-pQTLs are an important resource for interpreting GWAS loci.
Did anyone survive the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD? Today, we dig into an against-all-odds story of a disaster without warning, a mass disappearance without a trace, and oddly, a particularly stinky fish sauce, care of @CiaoSamin. Listen here: https://t.co/kBAInjlvRd
