DDCSP has shaped my life professionally, but more profoundly it opened up my mind to new ways of thinking, hoping, & envisioning how the future might be. Thank you @DorisDukeFdn for bringing the alumni network and DDCSP Homecoming weekend to life ♥️

OMG my friend went to do her laundry and saw this situation hanging from her ceiling. She didn’t like it 😂😂😂😂
I would pay US dollars to see this

Over and over again the science community fails us - claiming to “do better” and then immediately falling back into the racist comfort zone. Today it’s @NatureComms allowing #phrenology to pass peer review after “committing” to anti racism work. Revoke this paper.
If you know the history of the National Parks System you know that this type of racism is foundational in it. NPs were created for White men to escape their everyday lives and the perils of the city including having to be around Negros. Indigenous peoples were forcibly moved off
IF YOU HAVE A FELONY ON YOUR RECORD YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR VOTE (in most states).
Most people don't know about this, but go to https://t.co/rrvr8qFSQV!! YOU CAN VOTE!
And while we are at it, EVERYONE PLEASE be intentional to vote for your Attorney Generals and Prosecutors!!!!
Did I hear that correctly? Only one officer is being held remotely accountable and it's not for killing #BreonnaTaylor but instead for shooting apartments? It's never been clearer that this country considers property more valuable than Black life. https://t.co/um5E19D1pj
They literally did the opposite of “say her name”. After investigating the killing of Breonna Taylor for 6 months, here is the 2-page indictment that was rendered against one officer for wanton endangerment. The indictment makes no explicit mention of her name #BreonnaTaylor
Breonna Taylor’s killers getting off scot free without even a trial is exactly the systemic rot that people are protesting for. All those protests, all the outcry for justice, and can’t even get a trial. Angry doesn’t even come close to how im feeling. #BreonnaTaylor
There is no single “best” career choice for everyone in a field.
The best career choice for each person is the one that they find fulfilling, that uses their skill set, or that meets their personal and family needs.
Anyone else see a problem with journals charging $$$ to publish open access *while* paying reviewers $0 *and* saying they need to recruit more reviewers from underrepresented groups?
It's white women's equality day. White women were granted the right to vote 100 years ago. Indigenous people had to wait another 27 years. Asian people had to wait another 32 years and 45 years after white women were given the right to vote, Black people gained the right to vote.
I’m a #shark scientist & for work I wear rain boots, flip flops, or diving flippers!
I still #looklikeascientist when I wear this, heels, or anything else! Scientists have many looks, so stomp out the stereotype of what we “should look like.” #stompoutstereotypes 👠🥾
It's always fun to overlay images! Here's me taking some reference images to estimate effective detection distance, and a lynx passing a couple of days later. I identified it as a potential lynx spot based on topography, so was very pleased! #Scandcam#CameraTrapTuesday#MuddusNP
Please academia, when offering a job like a post doc, explicitly state the salary. Don't put terms like "competitive" or leave the salary blank. The salary is VERY important for low socioeconomic applicants. We need to figure out before applying if we can live there.
