India's Exports are the same as Vietnam's despite it being a much smaller country.
It has a Per Capita income almost twice that if India at $ 6000
In the year 2000 both countries had a similar per capita at ~ $ 450
Vietnam is not distributing money to "Select" Corporates as #PLI
Instead, Vietnam's approach is different:
Tax holidays: Up to 4 years of corporate tax exemption, followed by 9 years at 50% tax, and reduced tax rates.
Land incentives: Free or discounted land leases in industrial parks and economic zones.
Import duty exemptions: On machinery, equipment, and certain inputs used for manufacturing.
Tailor-made packages: Large strategic investors (e.g. Samsung, LG, Intel, Foxconn) often negotiate customized incentive packages with the government.
Unlike India's PLI, Vietnam relies more on low taxes, low-cost industrial land, stable policies, and trade agreements than on direct production-linked cash incentives and that is the better route even for India.
@frontierindica It’s been downhill for a while, Not able to reach customer support, Not able to return obvious counterfeit books. I feel the FDI rules against owning inventory are also hurting them in terms of product quality. Deliver agents also have lot of alternative options besides Amazon.
If successful, lithium-air batteries will kick jet fuel out of the sky and bunker fuel out of the ocean.
"Mainstream lithium-ion batteries have an energy density of ~250-270 Wh/kg, while future solid-state alternatives are expected to achieve ~500 Wh/kg. Lithium-air configurations present a theoretical energy density limit of 12,000 Wh/kg, a ceiling that matches the energy capacity of conventional gasoline."

Indian schools teach children to ask permission for everything, then society expects them to become founders, leaders, risk-takers and innovators at 25.
You cannot manufacture obedience for 18 years and suddenly demand agency after graduation.
@IronyMeter Donno how to maintain brand. It’s the quality that allows you to have higher margins than competition. You can reduce quality for a while have higher profits, but it’s like killing the goose that laid golden eggs. Don’t they teach Strategy for MBAs?
Genuine question:
Why can't Indian highways be smooth? They always feel uneven, bumpy, undulating. Even on flyovers along NHs, you can feel every expansion joint under your car. Many times, the car hits a sudden vertical bump out of nowhere, usually at the beginning of a flyover, and the impact is so hard that the wipers come on.
Is it due to soil conditions, lack of technology, engineering constraints, or simply corruption?
@Iamsamirarora@IndiaHelios It’s one of the least informative charts i’ve seen in my life, it’s just a story of Covid Dip and the rise afterwards. All other Funds seem to be started later.
The older I get, the more I realize that one of the most attractive traits is genuine enthusiasm. It's energizing to spend time around people who show real excitement for life. For people, ideas, and tiny moments. It takes courage to care so openly. Enthusiasm is contagious.
@kmr_dilip Another thing @Nithin0dha mentions is Error Correction. Any culture at an organisation level or societal level must have error correction built in. Otherwise the mistakes compound and you bring in catastrophes or you reach obsolescence.
@PuneEast@PMCPune It’s not the elimination of street vendors that’s going to make a difference, but their integration into the City. Which city has got spaces for Markets in every neighbourhood? Does everyone have to drive to Big Box retailers?
