@siimland Not that there is any reliable way to answer this, but what do you think is the lifespan increase if someone took all of these daily since, say, age 45? Given that exercise adds about 10 years between top-bottom quartiles, effect size probably smaller (but how much?)
@caloriesproper2 Been a while since I looked at the studies, but my conclusion was that TRE shows no benefit from skipping breakfast but skipping dinner sometimes does. Most plausible conclusion is small but extant effect size from having the last meal as far from bedtime as possible.

@caloriesproper2@johnlocke2076 Just learned about how fat can't make glucose (besides the glycerol backbone) in physiology; does this suggest muscle loss is literally biochemically inevitable with fasting? Baseline glucose needs, even during ketosis, will have to come from a non-adipose source
@BenMazer@thisisalimirza I think I'm beginning to appreciate that overdiagnosis isn't a simple problem to fix; mass screening won't improve outcomes in the short term. But perhaps it does in the long-term? The idea that more data won't EVENTUALLY be helpful seems implausible to me.
@ZKForTre@foundmyfitness The studies youve posted among others seem to paint the picture that early TRE does in fact offer a unique benefit above caloric restriction. It just isn't that big?
