Thank you to the Mitchell County Enterprise-Journal for writing about @thejonesctr’s involvement at 4-H2O! We had a great time talking about mussels and agriculture.
Great first week of 2023 mussel surveying for @thejonesctr. Technician Natalie Horn found her first Shinyrayed Pocketbook (and more)! See also, a beautiful lure on display. Mussels held with permits.
The Georgia Water Resources Conference is almost here, and @thejonesctr Aquatic Biology Lab is excited. Come see us talk about reservoirs, springs, wild pigs, and mussels!
Busy day for the Aquatic Biology Lab! We collected water and sediment samples at Radium Springs with Albany State researchers for a microbial biome study. Then, we did some surveying for the Skywater Restoration Project.
Thanks to @flintrvrkeeper and Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful for welcoming all of us @thejonesctr volunteers for the Rivers Alive Flint River Cleanup!
Grad Student Jamie Rogers is in the spotlight for her research on Shoal Bass. Despite being a popular game fish, little is known about their life cycle. @AuburnU, @GeorgiaWild, @USGSCoopUnits, and @thejonesctr are working together to change that. https://t.co/5hKYRyYB6A
Do you have a 1 of a kind mug with a caddisfly handle? I do and you can, too!

I also enjoyed seeing @Bankclimber present early data from our feral swine study with @FlintRiverSWCD and the University of Georgia. I’m excited for continued data collection and collaboration! #JASM22
Great talk from @BenCWebster on reservoir nutrient dynamics in the Chattahoochee and Flint basins on the last day of #JASM22. As @Waters_Paleolim says, “Sediment is fascinating!”
Every 2 years we pause to share what we have been up to lately. View our latest Biennial Report to learn about our recent discoveries and accomplishments via an interactive e-magazine! It has amazing videos, stunning photographs, and exciting science.
