Arbitrum airdropped over 600,000 users and still managed to give them solid allocations.

Monad airdropped around 230,000 users, which is a much smaller group by comparison.

If Arbitrum could airdrop 600k+ users comfortably, I believe Monad could have done something similar as well.

Even if it was 10k+ tokens for 200k–400k testnet users, it would’ve gone a long way in keeping the early community appreciated and motivated.

It’s not about comparison, but about recognition. People who supported and tested early always form the foundation of any strong ecosystem.

Hottest new web3 & AI Agents narrative? x402 - a native "pay as you go" layer for the internet.

WHAT IS IT?
x402 is an open protocol, cooked up by Coinbase, which builds on the previously abandoned HTTP 402 (payment required). This pay-per-request is embedded right in the web protocol.

No need for accounts, no API keys, and no monthly subscriptions. It’s built for the agentic web, allowing AI agents to pay autonomously.

The protocol has already hit 1.38M txns and $1.48M volume since May, with most of the growth happening over the past week.

WHY I AM EXPLORING IT (AND YOU SHOULD TOO):
→ Agents Can Act: My AI doesn’t need a credit card or me. It can buy one API call, a dataset, or 30s of compute, and then move on.
→ Dev Flow Smooth: Server says 402 → pay X on Y chain. You pay via a facilitator, send proof, and get what you paid for.
→ Better Incentives: Less free-tier abuse and fewer subscriptions. Value for value.

Is there hype? Of course.

Token speculation is wild right now with vapourware memes popping up.

Security/facilitators are also still maturing.

Regulation (like KYC) is likely to add friction.

Irrespective, legit builders are already shipping.

Coinbase have also already proposed a v2 with a cleaner spec, multi-rail (payment-scheme agnostic), and better repeat-access.

The direction is right: HTTP-native money for humans, apps & AI agents.
