Many congratulations to our PhD student @wegul794 for getting his paper titled “EDM: A Low Latency Ethernet Fabric for Memory Disaggregation” conditionally accepted to @ASPLOSConf 2025 🎉🎉
@ShiboChenTech@1a1a11a Accelerator as first citizen is indeed what most would agree. But regarding sharing memory to other services, does it have to be CXL? It seems to me pcie stuff are still heavily cpu-centric(not an expert, tell me if wrong🙂), does it make more sense to use Ethernet in this case?
Computer Architecture is all about understanding the tradeoffs in an end-to-end system. Three skills that every first-year architecture student should gain (in addition to learning critical thinking and articulating their thoughts).
@ONF_SDN is at the forefront of bringing bleeding-edge networking tech (SDN, 5G, and more) from theory into the hands of practitioners (incl. engineers and researchers).
Shoutout to @ajaylotanthakur, @JingqiHuang (my student at @PurdueCS), and a remarkable team of contributors!
Don't forget to watch this amazing talk on "Accelerating the 5G Mobile Core Control Plane." Control Plane needs acceleration too, not just our friendly Data Plane.
