@SMB_Attorney seems there is some evidence it beats a manual brush in a small, short, Dyson-run trial, and lab evidence on synthetic plaque. There is not good proof it is better than a $15–40 electric plus floss. That comparison is possible but they have not published it.
Why is it assumed that AI can't mark its homework better than experts can, it did the same grunt work and is producing outputs that experts can't.
I think professionals are trapped in this reductive process of taking a snap-shot of current AI capabilities, create a narrative around why they're still the linch-pin until AI proves it all wrong and the cycle continues.
@dremnik I just made my own today, sick of these apps assuming I want their own treatment to my transcripts and try and charge me to access them outside of the app - so crazy, I've made my own version exactly how I want it within the work day today.
We're unleashing sci-fi CIA level technology on to peoples wrists in the guise of corporate note taking, using this broadly across relationships has the capacity to produce the most asymmetrical and dangerous relationships you could imagine.
Person A has a live dossier on their friend, wife, boyfriend, colleague that can constantly strategise, detect lies, contradictions, notice changes in beliefs and feelings
Person B relies on their memory, is open to be gaslit, persuaded and nudged in all kinds of incredible and creepy ways.
So true, so so true. I pinch myself that this is real, it's like a CIA level, sci-fi technology that when used unevenly produces an invisible two tier society.
Person A can have a full dossier on their friend, boyfriend, wife, colleague that strategises, highlights lies, contradictions, weak points in real time
Person B is completely reliant on their own memory, can be easily gaslit and steered in ways that would have taken like classified technology just a few years ago.
@Tesla The future will be so unevenly understood, in England my friends think I'm a conspiracist when I tell them that Tesla cars can drive themselves, safer than a human can.

@chamath Multiple people in my life, friends and family, are convinced that it's a low-consequence option to numb the various pains of existence, they have become noticeably diminished, almost stupid. They also get extremely agitated without it.
@Mikethejourney1 Politics increasingly treats desirable moral ends as if they abolish resource constraints, debt postpones the contradiction, and delayed correction ultimately harms the people most dependent on durable provision.
If software generates itself at the spoken request of the end user, you get the answer or finish the task and move on before the thing has even become recognisable as software 😂
anything pre authored for a broad base is necessarily sub-par because so much of what we call the product is just the decision tree and scaffolding required to make one thing work for everyone.
might we discover that the apparent vastness of the internet was mostly clunky scaffolding around a much smaller set of outcomes it was actually good for??
